They're supposed to be my fellows! My colleagues. Why are their so fucking bad? Even if Manuela has Warp, there's no reason to not just recruit Lysithea or Linhardt instead. They bring much more value to a team than the effort of training Manuela through her reason bane.

Hanneman... doesn't even have that.

I want to want to use them. But why would I?

Edit: Yes, yes, there are no bad units in Three Houses. But... there are clearly better units than others.

They knew no one was going to want to bother playing with stinky professors that you don't get to groom into whatever you want them to be

Nobody in 3H is bad except Anna because she has no supports. The students are better of course but you can get along just fine with the teachers, they even both get siege spells to spread support bonuses everywhere, although you'll have an incredibly painful time getting Manuela to Bolting.

They are teachers at a church school. Byleth is the only teacher of the three that excels in combat

Manuela did decent for me in one of my more recent runs where I made her a Trickster with a Levin Sword, a support oriented gambit (forgot which exactly though) and primarily used her as a more supportive unit that could hang out in the frontlines (since stealth made it so she didnt have to worry about taking attacks). Also gave her a few magic stat boosters so she could be a decent combat unit when needed. Also ran a Mortal Savant Dorothea that run as well so I kept them close to each other so they could get an ATK boost from their support with each other.

Hanneman I still havent used, and Im not sure when Ill ever do a run where I do so. But I heard he can be good with a magic bow.

Of course, if youre hang up on using them is other characters can do what theyre best at even better, theres no real way to convince you to try them out in a run. But if youre like me and you like trying out different things each run (hence why I used a MS and Trickster in that run since I never did a run using those classes before), you can make them into solid units if you really want to.

Manuela's a drunk and Hanneman is old af

Hanneman's only purpose is to get a dark seal for people who didn't take CF route.

Manuela makes an okay Trickster

Manuela was a songstress and Hanneman is a researcher of crests. Neither of them are really battlehardened warriors like Shamir or Catherine.

Manuela has access to rally charm and has hexblade. I think she has both on recruitment due to her recruitment bases. I think she does better in a class with swordfaire like Assassin to make up for her lower str/mag growths and to utilize Hexblade better.

Hanneman has the 2nd highest magic growth with 55,joins with base 20 mag, and overall has a solid black magic pool. He's good out of the box if your magic unit is lacking.

They are units designs to be good backup options if your students are lacking, but with how promotion sets bases it's not that needed.

At least she aged more gracefully than Saphir from Engage.
