I've only ever seriously played Disgaea 4, and I felt one was enough.

The writing is still completely fine to me. The gameplay is kinda clunky though. And it's more glaring now that the later entries expanded the mechanics a bit.

Still a fun game though. I like the abundance of post-game content.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps - 10/10

Gives Hollow Knight a run for its money at the "best Metroidvania ever" title. Just a phenomenal experience the whole way through.

I liked it well enough, but ultimately a tactical RPG where the primary strategy is to make sure the enemy never gets a turn is kinda not great. Also basically requiring at least some grinding just to get through the story sucks.

I think I saw this series is on 7? No one ever talks about them. I played 3 as well and I think the story progression was a little better? But it had an actual defensive class and I recall that solving nothing. It just survives the longest if you don't kill fast enough. But then that one was MTX hell too so I just decided it wasn't worth it.

Yeah I used to be interested in this series during the PS2 era but I start losing interest when a series gets to Assassin's Creed levels of entries and no one cares.
