I just played the X-men arcade game a couple weeks ago with a couple buddies. A local comic book shop has it in their shop.

ive actually been playing around w/ the idea of building an arcade machine. I have an old dell lcd monitor that's 4:3 aspect ratio and it seems to be the go-to model for ppl who build their own machine

only problem is i dont really know any of the wood working required and my space is small so i wouldnt have anywhere to put it lol.

as for games, it'd mostly be stuff that was available on Dreamcast. not proper arcade games besides crazy taxi, but like jet set radio. Oh, also Galaga. I love that game

There are premade kits.

As far as the machine software retropie I guess. I looked into it during covid since I had nothing better to do.

Y'know, once upon a time, it was my dream to open a comic shop with a couple arcade cabinets and consoles, and also served finger foods and non-alcoholic drinks. X-Men was one of the cabinets I dreamed of installing there.

I never got there but I'm glad someone did.

I'm the same. The few times I've been to an arcade post 90s, I always gravitate towards those types of games.

I have little interest in playing racing games or rail shooters on a console at home, but I love the more interactive experience of playing them in an arcade.

Off the top of my head, the time Crisis series, A fuckload of fighting games(with usb ports), and at least a few of those compilation NEOGEO cabinets.

i remember going to an arcade as a kid and playing the coolest flight sim. cant remember what it was called, but you got into a capsule and had to belt yourself to the chair because the thing simulated being in the cockpit of a fighter jet and you could make the whole capsule flip upside-down.

I would prioritize games that never got a port the most. That beatem up denjin makai/guardians 2 would definitely be my first if I had the space for a arcade.

Then I would love to have time crisis and a few other light gun games.

Just look around the internet. I believe I'm handy enough to build it myself with no plans. 2 sides would be identical. A full back. A base and a front half cabinet that you can open. Screen should just be a cut out. I would have to look about online how to make controls.

I've had 2 projects in the plans. A countertop, a grill utensil holder.

The grill is just a cutting board on top of a file cabinet with towel holders on both sides. I even put wheels on it.

Id just put MAME on it with Hyperspin or some other front end and have all of them. But I was a huge Neo Geo fan.

I know there's a lot of franchises I'm a fan of that have had arcade games which don't have console ports, so a lot of those, although I don't remember the specific games in a lot of cases. Some that I do remember off the top of my head though:
