Your typical fast and fragile physical attacker.

Something like 65/135/100/60/70/120 with a special new ability that powers you up the more teammates you have alive.

I feel like Mold Breaker is a good Queen ability for some reason, but it might make more sense for a Knight.

Sheer Force, maybe?

I have said this in the past. That Pawniard should have directly turned into Kingambit, and then have a branch line for all the chess pieces where they are all different types, maybe mixed with metal or something. Like

Pawniard (Metal Fighting)
Pawniard -> Bisharp (Metal Fairy)
Pawniard -> Kingambit (Metal Dark)
Pawniard -> Quenpassant (Metal Dragon since strong?)
Pawniard -> Checknight (Metal Electric)
....etc.

Something 'like' this.

I've also thought this. Kingambit is based on shogi, which doesn't actually have a queen, but Pokemon has riffed off of Western adaptations enough times that merely the name counts as precedent.

I'd like for her to have a crazy stat spread, honestly. Queen is the strongest piece, let her be a strong mon, maybe make spatk a deep dump stat and average def or spdef to justify it. A steel Victorian-style crown, but of blades, and do the armor-as-skirt thing. Not sure if she should have a mace matching her crown; that would be cool, but it wouldn't follow the organic pattern of the bisharp line.

I had the same idea, where each split Evo would retain either the steel or dark typing, but I guess also be gender based ( thought this before Kingambit was a thing). Also, I don't really know chess well, so forgive me if I get peice names wrong. So:
-of course, still have Pawniard-> Bisharp
-male Pawniard -> king (Steel/Fairy)
-female Pawniard -> queen (Dark/Psychic)
-m/f Pawniard -> rook (Dark/ I didn't think of this one yet)
-whichever gender of Pawniard doesn't evolve into rook -> knight (Steel/Fighting)

And if we had a full chess set of evolutions, TPC could release an actual Pawniard chess set, with one side in regular red, the other in shiny blue.

I think Kinglaive would have been a better name to keep the bladed weaponry naming them, but the FFXV movie probably killed that
