past week and a half has been rough. digestion especially, lots of waxing and waning. both constipation and diarrhea dump prone. bloated as hell. energy has been in flux too

idk if i feel better yet but hey, turns out i didnt need it so no need to go back to so much. ive switched to a nice light ginger tea which is pleasant

I did the same thing about 2 months ago.

The ups and downs with my digestion sucked, but it sorted out about after a week.

I don't get afternoon crashes after work now, so that's a plus.

I went from about a 1k mg to 300. I have a fast paced job. Caffeine helped at first, but then I didn't get good sleep, so I drank even more caffeine. Classic vicious cycle scenario.

I was never a big caffeine drinker. Only ever had it in soda and iced tea but I don't think it was ever in a any large amounts. I'm not even sure what an average soda has in it or a glass of iced tea for caffeine. Anyway because of my dysautonomia and it fucking with my heart and making me go tachycardia I eliminated caffeine completely a few years ago. I now drink diet/zero sugar sodas that are caffeine free only.

But when I was younger and healthy I still wasn't very big on it. I don't feel it ever impacted me at all.

i'm about a 100mg of caffeine at worse per day average is 50mg. the one thing i couldn't give up is the can of zero sugar soda (usually it has caffeine, sometimes it doesn't).

I envy you all that can take that much caffeine per day. Caffeine helps me with lack of energy and focus issues, both once I get to around 100 mg or more (sometimes even less really) I get insane anxiety issues, specifically when it starts to wear off.

How do you all do it without getting all this anxiety? I feel like I would get through work days so much easier with it but because of that I avoid it.

tbh i was just using it as a vehicle for kratom. its the only thing nasty enough to cover up the nasty krat taste

now that im in canada i got no clue how to get ahold of kratom so consequently that means no more coffee either for the most part

Also one of the very counter intuitive of coffee withdrawal can be some pretty bad insomnia over several weeks. I completely stopped drinking coffee at the end of last year for reasons and my month of january was pretty miserable. Not sure if just a significant intake reduction would trigger it, but be warned.

Tapering really helps. I felt a little tired during the day as I reduced my intake, but it wasn't bad.

How's your sleep? If you sleep good and consistently, and don't eat a lot during the day, you might be alright without it.

Good on you. I was busting down 3 red bulls a day before I realized "hey wait, isn't this how people die by age 50"

It was more just feeding that ADHD energy imbalance than anything necessary, though I still chug one before wrasslin'

I do a hard cut off caffeine after 7pm. Sometimes that means I just go a day without any caffeine at all.

The only reason I was able to kick caffeine is because a while back I had a real bad stomach infection and basically couldnt drink or eat anything besides warm water or small amounts of milk for a few days, so had to go without caffeine. When I got better, I figured I may as well stay off it.

On normal days I wake up between 730-830 depending on how early I go to sleep. If I don't stay up absurdly late, I get to sleep between 5-6 hours a night on average. It takes me about 10 minutes to go to sleep.
