Prequel Yoda sucks!

Grogu being the best. Like the little guy, but he's not everywhere near the best.

I agree purple is the best saber color, BTW.

1977 Star Wars (A New Hope) is one of the most classic movies of all time.

also its one of the most fascinating making of stories ever.

I'll at least say that the Yoda take irks me the least. OT Yoda is still superior overall and I gnerally prefer practical effects when possible, but the one good thing AotC brought to table was that getting to see a fully-articulated CGI Yoda in 2002 was really fuckin' awesome.

When people say "the prequels were actually good."

Now there's a ton of great content from the prequel era. But ironically, the movies are not among them.

I can't imagine anyone saying Grogu is the best unless the Mandalorian was your first piece of Star Wars content you've ever watched.

I really havent cared much for Star Wars since the early 2000s but Grogu literally only exists to draw in younger demographics. Any macguffn could have been in its place.

Maybe liking BB8 better than R2D2. I don't even know who Grogu is. These Star Wars topics always get hits, so I guess I wanted to be apart of the moment. Most of your takes aren't really that far off base. I don't know any BB8 fans so I thought that one stood out the most.

Plenty of Thermonuclear takes here, but the borderline noncharacter being the best character in all of Star Wars takes the fucking cake.

The first two are the only ones that completely baffle me on how anyone can even hold an opinion like that. The rest just boil down to personal preference and while I don't get some of them at all, they're innocuous.

The Yoda thing. My kids and I recently re-watched TESB, and Yoda speaks normally once he drops the pretense with Luke (when he was testing Luke). But for whatever reason, fans liked the "Yoda-speak" and it got ingrained in his character. So every other iteration of Yoda is thus worse than his original appearance.

Grogu is barely even a character. He's a walking plot device.

I think A New Hope gets slagged on way too much, even by older fans who barely consider it better than RoTJ, but those first two sort of blend together in this poll option, I mean. Because a lot of people could like some others more. The Grogu thing was just nothing to me and either was just bait or yeah I didn't watch the Mandalorian wars. So w/e.

None of them bother me. I'm not that invested in SW and even if I was it's fine for people to have different opinions.

Also, I agree that BB8 is cooler than R2D2.

I think A New Hope is overrated. I always liked Empire and Jedi more, and now that Rogue One exists, ANH has moved to 4 on my list.

the fight between him and palp was pretty good, though the anakin/obi wan fight overshadowed it. really the prequels wouldn't be considered bad if they hadn't done such a crap job with the romance. they had the best lightsaber fights of any star wars movie after all, nothing really beats duel of the fates.

Except for the purple lightsaber part, all of those opinions are so bad you should be permanently banned from the internet.

imo every Yoda saber fight shouldve been Mace Windu instead.

I actually liked AoTC it's too bad the romance scenes were so boring. Not enough good acting! At least it was filmed at an beautiful place! I guess I have a soft spot for that movie for some reason. Not sure where I'd rank it overall, but it's my favorite of the prequels.

new hope. none of the original trilogy in top 3 a bit behind.

this exactly. There is literally nobody else who likes the prequel trilogy other than little kids who grew up watching them on DVD

star wars means different things to different people and its time to just accept that and stop fighting about it

I havent played Jedi: Survivor, but I think the rest of the takes are fine

I don't care enough about Star Wars anymore to get irritated by any take.

Hey I stood up for R2D2 over BB8 no one has an issue with the lighsaber colors. Only one without a vote. I felt it was worth noting. At the time of posting this the results are:

He's fine. I don't really have a strong opinion on him either way. I just thought the gameplay, enemy/boss design, abilities, and level design were fantastic.

Also, it is possible that recency bias is affecting my opinion of Grogu, but he is at worst a top-3 character IMO (only Darth Vader and Yoda are possibly ahead of him).

None of these irritate me. I either agree with everything you said, or I just don't care.

I never liked any of the star wars movies. I guess you could say the thing I disagree with the most is that Jedi Survior is the best piece of star wars media. Andor is a little better, in my opinion. Jedi Survivor is definitely my favorite after that.

Yoda was my favorite character in Star Wars (arguably still is, though damned if Kleya didn't come out of nowhere recently to give him a run for his money), and while it's a marvel to see the wizardry that puppetry artists can do, there'll always be limits to it. Getting to see a fully-articulated CGI Yoda who could move his lips, furrow his brow, and convey a wide range of emotions and fluid moments was just a really cool thing to see in 2002 (this feeling was compounded by how relatively shitty puppet-Yoda had been in TPM).

wait i was wrong. the ANH is bottom tier one also implies you like the sequels. i definitely like ANH less than the prequels (90's kid nostalgia, sure) as well as ESB and ROTJ but the sequels are simply awful

I wish I can change my vote now, as implying A New Hope is bottom tier also implies that Rise of Skywalker is either on par or better, which is a take far beyond thermonuclear.

I'm not particularly annoyed by opinions even if I dsagree with them.

Trying to be more helpful, I'd say the one i most happen to disagree with is not liking New Hope, it may actually be my favorite now that i think of it, but it's fine to have a different opinion so I'm not irritated.

Agreed with 2, 6, and 7. Voted for the first one because, ya know, Empire. Would have been a good take otherwise.

I grew up with the prequel trilogy, but I still think "None of the original trilogy are in my top 3 Star Wars movies" is crazy.
