Fold 7 probably isn't the best, but damn is it nice.

I have the Fold 5 and I don't think I can ever go back to a regular phone.

I got a Z Flip 4 and the novelty of opening and closing it never gets old. I'd totally get a Z Flip 7 if I had money to burn.

Had the Flip for a couple years and loved it. Switched to the Fold last year. Never going back to a non-folding phone.

Samsung Galaxy A series for basic phone stuff, plus it has headphone support & SD card storage support.

The more expensive A models are there if you want better camera quality and a better processor for gaming/multi tasking. Otherwise something like A15 5G can be pretty good for what it is.

cant see ever buying a phone with a flexible screen until they make them more durable. they're to fucking expensive only to get ruined by some dirt or a bit of water.

This is in part why I got a Z Flip. When it is folded it is much easier to put in a pocket than a regular phone. It is obviously thicker when folded but that's not really an issue compared to a normal phone that is awkwardly long.

S25 Ultra, probably. I have a S24 Ultra and it's the absolute best phone I've ever owned.

I have a Galaxy S24 which I'm very pleased with. I'm a light user, but for me they nailed it in every way - perfect size and weight, long battery life, nice display, etc.

Can't think of any ways to improve it to be honest.

I have the 9 XL and it's been great.

Still no battery drain after a year.

Couple hiccups with the YT app but otherwise great.

Just wish it had a headphone jack...:_:

The Z Fold 7 is the first Z series phone where I'm seriously wondering if I should pick it up.

Folded it looks like a Note series phone and is about as thin as traditional phones of its size. Unfolded and it's about as thin as the USB-C port and it finally has the flagship primary camera that rivals the S Ultra series phones.

If the battery capacity was up to 5000mAh I probably would've already picked one up.

A cheap Pixel or the Samsung A series is all you need.

In that case I'd say somthing from the Galaxy A Series is all you need. Those have specs that most people need and are actually the most popular phones that Samsung sells.

i'll again suggest motorola. you're not going to be gaming on one of their phones but for basic shit like internet/youtube/phone crap they're perfectly fine. most of them let you expand storage with an sd card and they generally still come with a headphone jack which is nice.

redmi note 14 is another budget phone i've seen suggested, cant say anything about it though because i've never owned one.

Can't speak to the A series as I've only ever had phones from the flagship S/Note series. When it comes the flagships, the whole "bloatware slows the phone down" thing is pure nonsense.

sure, and in that regard you can get a generation or two older mid range phone and not have the same issues. but i spent about a week looking up a replacement phone for a relative recently and while the a16 was a common cheap choice a lot of people complained about its performance and battery life compared to other comparably priced phones.

What's your budget?

Wait a few weeks and get a Pixel 10 Pro XL.

And on the bloatware question: Holy shit, I can't even clean out my work S22.

Currently driving a Samsung S23 Ultra but have had Pixels in the past. I really want to go back to Pixel (we'll see how reviews for the 10 series go) but the one thing holding me back was how hot they got and the not so stellar battery life, which I hope the 10 fixes with the new TSMC based chips. The OS is clean tho and much preferred it to my current S23's.

I like how it gets small for pocket entry. But I actually want a phone with a small screen and body. Like the old Xperias or early Galaxy (miss my S2 Hercules).

Edit: just looked up how you can use the Z Flips while they are folded. You cna use the keyboard on the half-sized outer screen!? This might entice me to make the jump...

The Fold7 screen is so narrow when you hold it closed.

The Flip7 does feel good in the hand. Samsung foldables are really mature at this point but what's the point if the Samsung ecosystem sucks. Your Samsung TV powered by Tizen doesn't use Google Cast.

My one experience with Samsung was the S10plus and that phone got really laggy after about a year.

I miss my V60. Yeah there were bugs but damn that phone was versatile. Plus I had the fold case which was neat to use as a tablet.

Yes but the quality seems dubious. They seem aimed at people who travel internationally and don't want it to be a big deal if they forget their phone in another country.

I currently have a 8 Pro XL. The heat is only an issue if the screen is on full brightness, which is apparently much brighter than the S23. I never really notice unless I put it in my pants with the screen on by accident.

The battery is average I guess. The Pixel 9 was apparently only a minor change, so I'm interested in what the 10 is going to look like.

Honestly get one of the cheaper Motorola models. I used the one with a stylus.

It does what I need it to, and the gesture controls for basic features are pretty great(two quick shakes to turn on the flashlight, two twists to open camera for example).

I recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy something and hate it because the UI is trash.

What would be a good one that's used mostly for streaming? I'd assume a better screen and battery life/capacity is the priority for that. No Pixels or Galaxy phones.

Currently using a OnePlus 7T Pro.

Motorola g35 is very high quality for a much lower price than just about anything else, excellent value

I love my Motorola. Large battery which lasts me all day (could probably go a day a half or two days). Fits my needs perfectly.

Probably whatever the latest Galaxy Ultra is.

Not gonna lie, I wouldn't mind one, but uhh, fuck that price tag.

I've never seen the value of whatever the current Ultra is. Year after year, my friend tells me that the shutter lag is unbearable when the Pixel has none.

I just saw an unlocked Pixel 9 Pro (not the XL) for $599 at best buy online. There will probably be lots of deals to clear the way for the 10.

Can the Pixel 100x zoom? That's what I thought. Also I don't have issues with shutter lag...most of the time.

I strongly recommend Motorola, I have not heard anything good from other people about Samsung phones and I didn't like the I had.

Motorola will never get my money after they fucked over the Moto Z Play and never did anything to address it.

It was a phone notable for being a great value - it had modular accessories that were cool. But the biggest draw to it was it's absurd battery performance.

It got an update that absolutely tanked the battery life - I was getting 2 days off it before the update and was lucky to get 6 hours afterwards.
