In the last few months ive started dating, have met someone and its going well...apart from my own insecurities playing up here and there. Person isn't ugly or anything, but I do wonder if its really what I want. I contradict myself in that I want a loving relationship and companionship, which I have, despite me being a little disconnected with my intimate side and very uncomfortable when given compliments. Then I also want to be alone, because shit takes a lot of effort haha Im kinda going along with it and seeing where it may/may not lead. It kinda beats sitting at home on weekends playing non stop vidya games. Then again, I have a lot less time for hobbies and such. But to the extreme I was doing, isn't good for any kind of social life and wanting a partner of some kind. They complain that no woman ever wants them and it's all women's fault. So then, they're given the advice to "lower their standards" which of course they incorrectly interpret as "settle for an ugly woman." I'm not saying that's what you're doing TC, but there is a world of difference between having realistic standards and having no standards.
