Farage will say anything to get elected, but it's in his (and his party's nature considering it's made up of ex-Tories who came up with the idea in the first place) to keep it in place. Scrapping it opens them to to criticism of not thinking about the children. If anything, they'll push harder for more sites to be blocked such as LGBT support sites. The far right would love more control over what their citizens see and I don't see why Reform would be any different, they're only saying this to get elected.

As much as I hate the word, Farage is a grifter following the MAGA playbook. He's already come out to say that gay marriage was a mistake and implementing Doge in the UK is a priority.

The problem Britain faces, as far as I can tell (and I could be completely wrong since I don't massively follow their politics and only keep tabs because my bloodline is entirely English) is that both political parties are utter dogshit.

America could sort of get by voting in Democrats because as shit as they are their adherence to the status quo meant America could keep ticking along because it once had the greatest economy on Earth (making the decision to elect Trump or stay home utterly insane), the UK on the other hand has needed proper visionary government and it needed it fifteen-plus years ago. Instead you've got a choice between the trainwreck that is the Tories with their insane competency crisis or Labour who are just Tory-lite nowadays.

When the entire system is rigged it starts getting hard faulting people becoming disillusioned with that system and deciding to try something outside the box.

Is there a better source?

From what I can tell, they aren't proposing to fine people for encouraging VPNs, but to fine sites that encourage children to use VPNs to get around age verification.
