Do you want bigger budget and larger scale shows or do you want formulaic and by-the-books procedurals churned out one after the other? This is the norm for big streaming shows like this. Bigger budgets, effects, and casts are what keep people engaged.

Not saying I agree with it, necessary, but Ill take it over generic monster/villain/slop of the week procedurals.

Wanting shows to have 34 episodes in a shorter timeframe than 9 years does not mean I want low budget slop lmao

To the people in charge, there isnt. Thats the point. All the execs at Netflix care about is continuous growth. Theyre either going to go big because they think that will drag new people on or theyll play it safe because consistency has a proven track record with television and itll minimize risks involved.

We arent going to see a shake up until we get the equivalent of Expedition 33 for streaming.

There was a pandemic and a writers strike during this period of time. This is stupid.

Not to mention a lot of the episodes in season 4 were feature length movies.

IIRC every episode is basically a movie-length one this time. But yeah, probably gonna be at least two hours for the final one with the rest coming in around 90 minutes

yeah I wouldnt be surprised if its 2 and 1/2, or 3 hours long. last seasons finale was over 2 hours.

From what I heard earlier, every episode is supposed to be as long as a feature length film

The long wait doesn't bother me if the payoff is worth it. Stranger Things hasn't let me down yet, so I don't feel personally offended by them taking their time. On the other hand, waiting two years for the second season of House of Dragons only to have it end up being an extended trailer for s3...that one left a bitter taste in my mouth.
