Anything good?

First Prime day left a bad taste in my mouth with Amazon trying to clearance their trash and buckets of lube.

Very limited shopping. Need some new bedsheets and shoes.

I've got $300 to Amazon, let's see what's worth getting

I've got a bunch of Amazon rewards and a $50 gift certificate but I haven't found anything so far. There's some Switch games I still need to pick up but no deals on those because of the Nintendo/Amazon feud. I did see some good prices for a few games on Woot but usually those are other region versions (region free still if you don't care about the artwork changes).

Kind of want to grab that LEGO Star Destroyer that comes with Cal Kestis...

Since Amazon promised a maximum of 40% discounts it's kind of meh.

I may get a new iPad keyboard/touchpad case, though (after I just bought one, no less).

I'm gonna at least look if I can get deals on some stuff I've wanted for a while

-piano bench
-office chair

With the major caveat that any such deal is actually on a quality, functioning product, and not some shoddy crap intended for a landfill.

The Lego Store has the Daily Bugle set on sale for $280 but of course Amazon still has it for $350. I was hoping they would match but my friend said Amazon doesn't usually match Lego Insider deals. I would have definitely finally picked up the set since it's retired now.

I pretty much just use it for amazon devices, my kids fire stick died a month ago so now I'll replace it for $20 instead of the usual $50.

Yeah I was just about to say the deals never seem to be any better. I'm not even sure how to tell anything is on actual sale on that website unless I compare prices from other places.

Nah, I try to avoid Amazon. Have shopped with them for a long time but now don't even have Prime. Most deals aren't deals and there's not a thing I need.

Idk if it's better in the US, but in the UK Amazon is a miserable shopping experience. "Sponsored" products constantly interrupting your relevant search results. Page upon page of randomly generated company names selling low quality disposable shit. Established brands are dead on Amazon. Enjoy your YUNGPARR toilet brush and your AAZAA t shirt.

nah, I rarely order things on amazon. It's mostly bulk t-shirts or those scrubby pads that are half sponge, half green thing.

I love Camel x3. I also primarily use Amazon to buy blu-ray movies since they pretty much dont physically exist anywhere around me anymore. I mean I always used Amazon for buying movies as they were good deals but now its a necessity. I also use Amazon for buying books still.

I have never once bitched about Bezos and have always enjoyed using Amazon. The fact I can get such a wide range of stuff and usually for a better price and have it delivered to my doorstep in the middle of cornfields and cow pastures in less than 2 days makes me happy. I rarely use it these days but it was fantastic when I had my dogs and for 13 years I regularly got high end dog food delivered that wasnt available in my area.

I'll see if any Makita tools I need are on discount, but I may not buy anything.

I'm super tempted to buy a Hyperkin Xenon (modern 360 reproduction) controller but I know the d-pad's gonna suck.

Don't prime day sales mostly just jack up the base price to make it look like it's more on sale but it's really not?

I only buy stuff I've been following for a few months before hand and is a legitimate deal. I use camelcamelcamel to check back pricing.

Unless you know the price beforehand I always assume it's inflated and certainly some items on my list have been.

Snagged the deluxe hardcover editions of Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune. Two of them were 50% off for Prime days, and got the third for free because they were also part of buy two get one free. Paid $56 for what would normally be over $83.
Also snagged Kill Bill vol.1 and 2 on 4K, as well as 12 Monkeys on 4K all for $43, (also part of buy two get one free).
Told myself I wouldn't spend more than $100, came in right under the wire, (although with tax, I guess technically I blew it).

Prime day usually sucks for me.
There's not really anything I want on there.

Prime Day is always bad because few of the "deals" are actual deals, and they apply often to stuff nobody wanted anyway.

Yeah it's like that everywhere I think.

One thing it does look like they fixed though, is that sorting your search results by lowest price no longer floods your results with tons of vaguely related items.

A few years ago I searched for luggage and when I sorted by lowest price, the amount of search results skyrocketed. Because now it was showing me replacement wheels for luggage, luggage covers, etc., instead of only luggage. Made it impossible to see what decently priced luggage there was. But now it doesn't do that when I sort.

I've seen stuff cheaper on regular days. Same with black friday sales, they're all scams now.

I assume it doesn't apply unless you actually have Prime.

In any case, nothing in my saved items is on sale for me.

This reminds me of Dick's sporting goods I really wanted an elliptical machine, but they were $1,200 in the store and online every time I checked. One day the salesperson told me they had a big sale coming up at the end of the year so I should wait until then to buy one. So the sale comes up and it is 50% off! Normal price $3,000 so $1,500 on sale in store and online! So it went on sale and was $300 more than they had ever asked for it before. I dont blame the salesperson, but Dick's definitely lived up to their name that day.

Nah. Post 14 proves why. Amazon has abused the % off sale price so I don't ever believe them when they say something is a large percentage off. I'm not going to go out of my way to find random things to buy when the price isn't any better.

I also picked up a Corsair P3 500GB SSD for the PC I'm putting together for my parents.

I shopped elsewhere, got some new dress clothes for a fairly massive discount.
