Proto_Spark 07/07/25 11:21:40 AM #36:	I think we'll eventually get it - I think the mass popularity of GoT, and then the huge backlash the ending few seasons got probably made him change a bunch of plans (given like, the main plot points of the last few seasons aren't really that out there, just how the show got to them), and GRRM is admittedly really bad at actually planning his stuff out. Don't forget his last book was released pretty much around like, season 1-2 of the show's release. That's a lot more hype for this book than existed when he was writing the last one. So having to redo whatever his original plans were, and then find a (at least, somewhat) different way of bringing even more characters together for a big final climax that still fits the myriad of storylines and character arcs probably isn't fun. I imagine Winds of Winter would probably be the toughest book of the story to actually write. But because of that, I do think that if we actually manage to get Winds of Winter, we'll probably also get A Dream of Spring pretty quickly.
