I had FOMO and got one and i'm perfectly ok with it. It's going to go from simply hard/annoying to find to borderline *impossible* to find closer to Christmas when Pokemon, Final Fantasy Tactics and 7 remake, and Hyrule Warriors are out.

Ill have less expendable income around the holidays anyway, plus I'm having fun with Mario Kart and will be getting Donkey Kong this month, too.

An infamous reviewer once said "I'd rather have one good game to play at launch than 20 that range from mediocre to bad". Mario Kart World was that one game. There's a lot of Switch games to play on it, too. I have the Bravely Default remaster, and am continuing to buy Switch games. I just pre-ordered Yasha: The Demon Blade and Ninja Gaiden Ragebound because those are the types of experiences I want on the Switch. There's no shortage of games to play. Maybe try some of those.

I didn't click on his review, not clicking on this video. Neither have any impact on Nintendo sales. Its almost like his videos just don't matter...

Never heard of this man but he has 20m subs on YouTube, he probably has good reach, so his review did matter just by that basic metric. He is delusional if he thinks otherwise. On the other hand, we've reached a point where absolutely brainless FOMO driven consumerism is the norm, so whatever this guy did was likely a drop in the bucket.

That said I don't care much him based on a few minutes of this video, so there's that from me.

It's a Nintendo console. You buy it for the eight or nine new first party titles that you know are going to be absolutely stellar that are going to come out over the next few years. At least historically you can trust that those titles will eventually come out and they will be absolutely polished to perfection. How many of them are available at release is kind of irrelevant as long as there's at least one.

It really goes under the radar how much of a joke Muta actually is, just because he has decent takes on some controversies.

Ps5 had nothing I wanted to play day 1, switch 2 has nothing I want to play day 1. Theyre both horrendous day 1 as far as Im concerned, but as I said, thats just console launches.

Its just goofy when people cant admit that their new console also has no games yet

Was probably me saying it was weak. Because it is. Every console launch is.

Its usually just accepted that a console is pretty weak until games start coming, but the switch 2 has some very loud fans. As Ive said in another topic, theres a lot of people out there hyping up the fact that last gen games actually perform well on the switch 2. Thats not something to be praised imo. Im sure itll get games eventually, but it just exists rn.

At the end of the day, the switch had one exclusive, and several ports of older games on day 1. Idc if people buy it or enjoy it despite that, but objectively it is very lacking as a $500 console rn. Thats just how console launches are

I dunno why people would buy a brand new console if the qty of titles right now matters to them. I know that down the line the library will improve, I know I would buy one eventually, and I didnt want to risk them going out of stock for like a year or more with how hard it was to get a PS5. Ultimately that last point didnt end up mattering since its well stocked everywhere but those were my reasons for buying early. I am skeptical if someone out there bought a Switch 2 and is distraught because the library is very small at the moment

In the context of the PS5 having no games, which is an incredibly popular meme, of course it literally has games that are playable for it. It has very few games in the way of exclusives though. Hence, it has no games (specifically made for the console).

Why is Nintendo suddenly off limits for such a term lmao? Nintendo having the same tier of console launch as another system doesnt mean theyre both good, it means theyre both mid. I think some people do get so caught up on brand loyalty that they overhype their new products, yes.
