I feel like the lioness could rest honestly. She is not in much danger. She could build a mountain of toddler corpses that cannot be climbed by the other toddlers and go to sleep.

Realistically the lioness wouldn't do that but the toddlers wouldn't be trying to bury her under their corpses either.

Also the fight wouldn't go on 11 days. All the toddlers are dead of malnourishment after 3 or 4 days. The lioness is the only one eating here.

Lioness takes out a bunch of toddlers, the rest die of dehydration.

Realistically, I think the Lioness can rest.

I always think of these scenarios as though neither side gives up.

Toddlers are stupid, but they're not incapable of processing danger. The roar from a lion at klose range would spark so much panic and trauma. Lion kould probably sleep for hours right in front of them with zero risk of any working up the nerve to approach. And this isn't even factoring in hearing a fellow toddler's screams as he is horrifically eviscerated. With no time-limit or mysterious force kompelling both to fight to the last breath, this is just a month long buffet where that kat is free to do whatever it wants in between meals.

I don't think it would be non-stop. A lioness top speed is approximately 50 miles per hour. Let's cut that in half for a leisurely pace, 25 miles per hour. The lioness spends one hour getting 25 miles away from the toddlers.

An average adult (much much faster than a toddler) walks at about 3mph. The lioness could literally sleep the whole night and come back to keep killing more toddlers.

Im picturing one of those videos where a cat is just swiping a coffee mug off the table just to watch it break.

This would be like that only with toddlers.

In the context of battle boarding here, bloodlusted means using full power without inhibitions even in an out of character way. It doesn't mean deliberately put yourself in a disadvantageous position for short term advantage.

If you pull out kryptonite against bloodlusted Superman, he'll run away and kill you with heat vision or throw heavy shit at you. He doesn't charge the kryptonite in a fury.

Running away and doubling back are real hunting strategies. And they do it specifically to rest if they fail to catch prey on their first attempt. And running away from an even bigger danger is a real strategy. There are admittedly not many things that threaten lions but when it does happen they will run.

Maybe a better question is "if you have a city full of nothing but toddlers, how many could a lioness kill in 5 days" as that's the only thing uncertain.

Definitely. That lion is going to take her time picking and choosing the most succulent toddlers at her leisure. When she's not devouring toddlers she'll bait them into charging at her just to kill them for sport. After that she'll just go to a high area out of the way and just sleep.

A lot of you really don't seem to understand how useless toddlers are.

We paid a high price for the large brain, advanced tool making, and social intelligence. That price was a very long period of nurture required for offspring before they can survive without adults.

If we were talking 7 year olds, maybe even 6, there's a shot they could organise and defend themselves. Toddlers are helpless.

For arguments sake we should assume no one involved will die of unrelated causes (exposure, hunger, etc.), so the question is really: how much meat does a lioness eat each day, and many years would it take for a lioness to eat one million toddlers at that rate versus how many years do the toddlers need to survive to reach an age where they are able to defend themselves from the lion attacks and ultimately defeat it?

Cursory research says they eat 5kg a day but I'm not sure exactly what they eat. A toddler does not have a lot of meat compared to a gazelle or zebra. If we assume a lioness is eating as efficiently as possible and not killing for just the most tasty bits, they'll kill at most 2 a day.

If the toddlers are literally immortal, over 900,000 live to become adults but this seems like it's veering way off the original question as now it's about can a lioness beat 900000 adults.

I just can't see 3 year olds overpowering a lioness without some sort of help or weapons. Toddlers can be pretty smart, but not smart enough to use their numbers to their advantage.

How big is the place that they're fighting at? I feel like that's going to determine the answer imo

The smaller the place is the more advantage the kids have, the bigger it is the more advantage the lion has
