The whole VTuber community is under ablaze since he was arrested at Nashvilles No Kings protest and had a lot of images of Far right VTuber Pippa Pipkins on his guns. This has gotten media to target VTuber fans and have people get Pippa fired as well as any VTubers that make edgy jokes due to it breeding this behavior.

Thoughts?

I watched the video (loved the grandparent charm of the hosts).

Seems like a far right gun nut who worships racist killers and has a passing interest in drawing anime girls (poorly).

What's the vtuber stuff about? The video doesn't mention it. Is that the most important angle here?

There are still many liberal vtubers. They didn't all turn far right. Its just that vtubers used to be all on the left and now some are going far right. But I'd still say the vast majority are on the left

Kinda but she's pretty tame. She's massively toned down lately. She doesn't really do anything crazy or cry about woke in politics. Alt-right are attracted to anyone and everyone that isn't woke. A recent hololive member came out as asexual and alt-right loons went ballistic over it.

Not really a particularly important angle but like... the threat has a picture of pippa very prominently, the guy arrested clearly is quite obsessed with her, etc

It is significant to vtuber fandom because I think a lot of people there still think of it as fairly niche overall (and it is, but not as niche as it used to be) and the immediate reaction is a "wtf is SHE doing there??" sort of thing. like the reaction you might have if you unexpectedly see your neighbour show up on TV or something. She's among the most popular EN vtubers so yeah

It's significant to non-fans because it propagates this attitude even though it's super not true lol

I know nothing about vtubers, I asked what the vtuber angle was, because it is not mentioned in the video. Other people posted about the Nazi stuff. This poster took no issue with them, but got pissy with me for saying 'I'll continue to avoid vtubers'.
