Companies are trying to be loss leaders on tech that will inevitably make loads of money in the future, assuming something out of left field doesn't disrupt that. We're far too early for 90% of the shit they're trying to shill.

And then the new AI will train even more AI until they decide they don't need us humans any longer.

There's a million different ways to make money off of it, they're just not profitable due to the enormous compute and infrastructure costs. OpenAI (and others) are playing the long-game.

Amazon took a decade to make money.

I think many companies have figured out how to make money off of AI.

1) find some cost-cutting use of AI in your company
2) let openAI foot the real bill, they're the ones operating at a loss
3) you make money at their expense

It's all one big scam, and it's pretty profitable for the scammers. But don't let any AI shills hear that.

AI outside of medical, research, and paperwork is basically to just keep the hype train rolling so nVidia can continue being the garbage company it has been for over a decade.

They probably are but they overhyped it to an unrealistic degree. Just like they did NFTs and crypto before it.

I know that, but AI can't be trusted enough yet to actually get things right regularly enough. Outside of summarizing or making the tasks easier they're not good enough to fully automate a very large portion of these.

It's like a forklift that can maybe lift 5 pounds.

If you can't lift 5 pounds then maybe this is the forklift for you.

However I can easily lift 50 or even 100 pounds, so I really don't need that forklift.

Then you tell me the forklift was stolen. Okay I really don't want it now.

Now your telling me that the stolen forklift that can only lift 5 pounds anyway costs 100,000 dollars in maintenance per month.

We might consider that this forklift fucking sucks, and that they guy trying to sell it to me should fuck off.
