What about the rich people who do their hardest to get away with paying as little tax as they can? What was their response?

A lot I know dont agree with it. In fact, after a short conversation, I can have them agreeing with progressive economic policies.

I've never asked my dad but he has offered in the past that he thinks trickle down economics works and is a proven principle. That was an experience to hear.

How does fairly taxing the rich hurt the trickle down process? Just not enough money for general use?

In his words, increasing taxes (really just fairly taxing them and closing loopholes) on the rich leads to them creating fewer jobs because they're being punished for making money.

But also what Accolon said. The rich aren't letting shit "trickle down" from their tax breaks.

They don't like it but it's the democrats doing it.

It's usually one or the other that I hear.

They believe they'll be rich one day.

Like all the horrendous shit republicans do, they always handwaved it away with some form of "Well I don't agree with THAT part, but ..."

"They earned the right to get tax breaks and to avoid taxes!" Meanwhile, someone on food stamps buying a candy bar is the worst thing ever to them.

I really don't like to use this word/insult, but the colloquial term "cuck" fits them like a glove. They love using it so it's just another form of projection from the right. It's straight up total bitch behavior with how they kiss rich people ass. It's pathetic. And they like to act like they're independent badasses. Give me a break.
