A lot of produce can be chopped up and frozen for 3-9 months. They can go a year, but i find the quality starts to lessen after 6 months.

A lot can be frozen. I do this with Bacon. Double benefits. It lasts longer so I spend less on it, and I also I eat less of it because I don't feel a need to rush to finish it before it goes bad

GF quit cigs 6 months ago, and the strange thing...she doesn't think it has mattered financially.

Buy a pressure cooker.

You can make meals for the week very easily on the cheap. Still have the same instant pot I bought 10 years ago. Never plan to upgrade.

You can "find" cookbooks pretty easily. I have Asian inspired, Mexican inspired, and vegan. Plus, time limited cookbooks when you want something quick, healthy and delicious.

It's easy to make breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert with a pressure cooker.

How much are cigarettes where you are? Here in Australia they can be anywhere from $30 to $50 a pack.

All very nice and kudos but what about experience with children? And also, more literal qualifications, such as degrees and teaching qualifications?

To work where I work, you need to have at least a masters in a relevant field and at least 5 years teaching primary in one of a small list of countries to survive the first sift when we recruit.

However, everywhere has different requirements. You can get a job easily enough in most language centres with a degree and a TEFL certificate, but that wont pay anywhere near as much or have the same kinds of benefits.

To add to this, if there are local farmer's markets around you those are worth checking out. Often you can find food that's cheaper and fresher than what you get at the grocery store.

Tolerance increase can be such a bitch and before you know it your use cost has doubled or tripled

In addition to wild-foraged mushrooms that can be impossible to get at grocery stores, but those are not going to be cheap.

Buy used when you can: shop garage sales, flea markets, estate sales, local thrift stores, etc. Many used things can be cleaned or repurposed.

On this note. You can often thrift a good Herman Miller chair for as low as a couple hundred. If you're at the PC a lot (like, 6+ hours a day) Then a good chair is a good investment. I used to spends close 1-200 every 3-6 months on random office chairs from Walmart or Office Max that would fall apart quickly. That same amount can get you a chair that lasts a decade *and* is more comfortable / better for you.

For crafty people: look into making your own soaps and detergents. A lot of these haven't actually improved that much over the years but the prices keep soaring. Learning to make your own in bulk can cut those costs down tremendously. For example, I use a cleaning spray that's basically just isopropyl, water, and hand soap (something like 60 / 35 / 5 ratio). Works great, cheap as hell, natually disinfectant, make sure to use it in a well ventilated area.

Search for droid cam so you can try it out on play store - to unlock all features they want like 10 bucks.

Cook big meals at home and it for lunch/dinner etc over the course of a few days. Cuts down a lot on grocery expenses.

Organize food by expiration date- earliest that will expire in front. Saves on food waste.
