Remember how it looked like absolute shit and people were defending it and wanting it to be a new standard for film?

Thank god that didn't happen.

I definitely like my big epic movies to look the same way as a day time soap opera. It's like a whole movie looks like behind the scenes footage.

the movies were fine. They were just 7 or 8/10 instead of 10/10 which was LotR

I mean... No.

They were 5/10, 3/10 and 0/10 movies.

But that's not even the point. I'm just talky about Peter Jackson's nutty high frame rate crusade.

Wasn't the issue the movie was shot in 3D HFR, with an emphasis on the 3D part vs the HFR part? This article discusses it.

But yeah, even that aside, the OG Trilogy was much better than the Hobbit Trilogy. Splitting a single novel into 3 movies wasn't a good idea.

I vividly remember seeing the prologue opening of the first film and there's some shots of villagers running around their hovel homes while the dragon passes by and I specifically thought it looked like someone took their go pro camera and shot at a renaissance fair.

I never saw the high frame rate version. But when the first high refresh tvs came out they also looked like shit and everyone claimed it was better. Now tv manufacturers have a more natural looking animation imo

Of all the reasons to complain about those movies, that's the one you choose?

I didn't see hobbits in middle earth. I saw actors dressed as hobbits on a soundstage, with a little bit of Benny Hill movement thrown in for good measure.
