Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has been hit with some massive leaks, led by the reveal of playable SpongeBob SquarePants. Patrick could be joining in as well.

F2Insider posted a series of videos, art, and more from the game on social media today. The big bombshell shows SpongeBob in action, and hell apparently come with his own stage for Bikini Bottom. Footage indicates that SEGA will be offering this content as DLC.

SpongeBob is just the tip of the iceberg for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds leaks. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Avatar: The Last Airbender, representation for IDW characters, and even Minecraft have been shown in various assets. Its just not clear if everything will be making it into the final game. On top of that, we see the protagonist of NiGHTS, but apparently wont be playable.

Therell be plenty of questions of how these leaks came about and how F2Insider acquired all of this content. Theres a lot here that seems to be from an in-development build.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launches on Nintendo Switch later this year the first trailer is available here.. SEGA could be sharing more on the game soon potentially during Summer Game Fest later this week.

This feels weird to include in a Sonic game. I would have preferred Mario or even just another Sega franchise (like Clockwork Knights).

don't have an issue with this but it's just so weird. Then again Paramount is a big part of Sonic nowadays i guess

Nintendo literally has a Mario racing game dropping thus year there is not a chance in hell they'd let sega borrow him for this lmao.

I feel like this games target demographic literally has no idea who nights is, I myself know him more from crossover games than his actual game.

Hell I know NiGHTS and still own the original game on my Saturn and the sequel on the Wii (still prefer the original).

Oh, riiiight, those are Paramount IPs and Paramount makes the Sonic movies so not random after all. Still weird to see.

Calm down there, Debbie Downer.

Pretty disappointing when these rosters are often missing some cool Sonic characters let alone SEGA in general.

All these guest characters even have their own kart racing game I think, I'm sure I've seen a Nickelodeon Kart racer with them on the art.

Developer 1: Good news, we managed to create the character models so that we can put NiGHTS, the main platformer mascot of the Saturn era while Sonic was on hiatus, into the new Sonic racing game!
Developer 2: Oh great, what a great choice for a guest racer! It's both thematically fitting and a heartwarming burst of nostalgia!
Developer 1: Oh he's not playable.
Developer 2: Eh?
Developer 1: Well think about it, man, we already have SpongeBob, four Ninja Turtles and the bald fucker from Avatar in there, we need to be wary of flooding the game with guest characters. You need to remember that this is a Sonic game!

this feels like if they put Shrek, Minions and Dominic Toretto in the new Mario Kart

though I will say seeing Zavok in a Pattymobile is one of the funniest fucking things I've seen all year

Garak. I could totally buy him having a secret sidequest where he gets into a racing tournament with cartoon characters and then when he gets back to DS9 tells all the other characters exactly that when they ask where he's been but says it in a sarcastic tone so they think he's being coy about where he really was.

The game is called cross worlds and almost every sonic single racing game has had guest characters

Sega putting out a competent (but subpar compared to ASR/ASRT) racing game that'd be forgotten about a year after launch, featuring major Sonic characters, some bullshit newer sidekick/comic characters and a handful of other Sega cameo characters
