I have been working at a University for quite a few years now (Finances-related Staff Job, not as a teacher tho) and i have made a few female friends who study there during these years. There are a few who have already graduated and still keep in touch with them every now and then.

Anyways, i made friends with this 3rd-year Economics student back in October and since then i came across around 3 times in campus and we went to grab some gelato somewhere else twice, we used to chat every now and then as well. Just to clarify, i have had a girlfriend for 5 years now and i usually told all the girls i made friends with this from the get-go and pretty much all of them were ok with, including this one, i happen to be rather friendly so there is no are no romantic feelings towards any of them, including this girl

Anyways, back in March 31 (Last time i saw her) i came across her in campus once again and this time she was with her sister (She told me she had a younger sister, 1 year younger and she studied there too, a different major tho) so she introduced her to me and we talked for a few minutes. We chatted for the last time 2 days after that day, everything seemed normal, as usual.

Around 5 days after that, i messaged her again but there was no response. A few days passed and there was no answer (She would take her time but she always replied) so i messaged her once more 1 week later asking something regarding her faculty and thats when i noticed she deleted me from her phone contacts (Im not blocked but im not able to see her Profile Pic anymore) and she didnt reply either, that was the last time i ever messaged her (April 12)

Stuff like this happen and im more than ok with it, but i just wonder if her sister had to do anything with this? This happened right after she introduced her to me. I wonder if her sister probably asked her stuff about me or probably told her not to waste her time talking to me or anything like that? I mean she is single and and im taken but we were just friends, there were no romantic feelings from either of us. Chances are she also probably got bored of talking to me? But all of this happened right after i met her sister

So what do you think could have happened?

I think this is one of those situations where you shrug and forget about it. She seems to have been a fairly casual acquaintance.

I can think of lots of scenarios that could explain it. It will involve some kind of silliness or misunderstanding.

Could have been her sister thought maybe she liked you and told her she was wasting her time since youre taken

The deletion could be more that she didn't know how to word things without sounding rude/whiny "I like you but you're in a relationship!" so she just thought this might be easier and that you'd understand

Obviously she was trying to hook you up with her sister.

I wouldn't over think it. Don't think it has anything to do with her introducing you to her sister. She knows you are taken..Maybe she has feelings for you and wanted let you go (might have talked to her sister about it).

I wouldn't worry about it. You did everything you could do.

Thanks for the replies. Im starting to think her sister probably wasnt entirely the reason why she stopped replying, could be that she saw me a bit differently than i saw her

One last thing: Her birthday happens to be on May 30 (In 9 days), would it be a good idea to send her a happy birthday message or should I just forget about it? Im mostly asking because the 2nd time i saw her i asked her about her birthday date and i told her that i was pretty good remembering dates (I actually am) and told her i was gonna wish her a happy birthday without doubt and she said "Thanks! I do hope you remember my bday as you say"

I only plan to send her something simple like "Yo, Happy Birthday Yuli, hope you have a great day today" and nothing else, I dont plan on mentioning stuff like "Its been so long since the last time we talked or "How have you been"

A part of me thinks about doing it but my other half thinks i should just ignore that and not talk to her anymore like I have done

maybe ask your GF what she thinks and why this friend stop talking to you

but also remembering birthday of someone you haven't talked to in awhile can send the wrong message unless you were like very very good friends for many many years

or it is on FB where no one cares anyways

I would just move on and not wish her a happy birthday. She made it clear she doesn't want to hear from you for whatever reason.

Why are you obsessed with this girl? You mention that you told them about your GF. Did you tell GF about them?

Theres nothing wrong with sending a simple Happy Birthday (nothing else), but at this point it seems best to let it go.
