For what felt like forever, probably over a decade (basically the entire trash snyder run and then some) DC has been touting their amazingly garbage logo as so: https://i0.wp.com/ifanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/New-DC-Logo_Blue.jpg But now I was recently watching Kite Man and Creature Commandos and the design is different, it's like the classic DC design or something: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/71/DC_Comics_2024.svg/1200px-DC_Comics_2024.svg.png What's up with that? Could it be James Gunn related? Like he's making DC back to being good at the core level? Like they're going back to their roots of what made them great and paying respect to their much beloved properties? --- http://i.imgur.com/0UFI0T9.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

My guess is that the trademark on the older logo was expiring so they had to register a new one using a new logo. I think trademarks last a decade but I am not sure. --- You are always the hero of your story, and a villain in someone else's. So, lose the ego, and be as nice as possible. ... Copied to Clipboard!

They switched back for the All In initiative. The house style for their comics is deliberately very close to the one they had in the 90's: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/e/edfc6e0c.jpg https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/9/9fdb133f.jpg Compare to the slightly less recent house style: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/6/600df2d7.jpg --- "I play with myself" - Darklit_Minuet, 2018 ... They were using this one from 2016 until last year. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/3/39985fc0.png But now I was recently watching Kite Man and Creature Commandos and the design is different, it's like the classic DC design or something:That's the new logo that they switched to in 2024. It's very obviously designed to look almost identical to the old, pre-2000s logo. But otherwise, I don't think the commentary is really necessarily. I know people had qualms with the New 52 era overall, but that era ended in like 2016. DC comics (the "core level" of the brand) have consistently had fantastic runs for a long time at this point. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Or maybe it recently ended. Basically every comic during that time period says Dawn of DC on it. Both Marvel and DC like to name their eras now. And have the era name in big print on every cover ...
