I feel like stagflation is about to get bad. People are saying how theyre not planning any big purchases this summer .

Doesn't calling it out like this defeat the purpose of Walmart eating the cost? If it was to keep the public from realizing the prices are increasing due to the tariffs, announcing that Walmart can afford to eat it just calls attention to it.

Of course, only the people who were already aware will notice though. The others would rather gouge out their eyes than acknowledge something Trump did wrong.

Not really. These people forget about stuff so easily. In 3 months they'll be saying "Everyone knew the tariffs would increase prices, but these companies are being greedy because Biden let them get away with it!"

While true, I'd caution leading with this right now.

Walmart chose to throw shade out there at Trumps dumbass tariffs. Democrats and those alike should literally weaponize this. What they should absolutely not do is spin this as a, "Oh well, I feel like Walmart would raise their prices anyway." Thats a terrible message.

True, but I would rather the prices be raised because of union protections their employees have now, then them just not wanting to eat the tariff costs that they probably backed financially and voted for. They should eat the tariff costs cause they caused it lol

Both things can be true. In this case though, prices ARE INCREASING specifically because of tariffs. I just hope Walmart makes it itemized as "tariff adjustments" or something like that to show how much tariffs are effecting the prices so we, as customers, can also audit them as well.

Yep, I literally have MAGAt's on my facebook feed saying that Walmart is artificially up charging to make Donald Trump look bad, even pointing out how Trump telling Walmart to "eat the tariffs" practically undermines every narrative Trump made. There was someone on CE that told me this would happen and props to them. You would think they're Dhalsim from how much they have to stretch their arms to protect Trump.

America needs less tarriffs and more corporate regulation.
