I think it's solo, iirc it had the largest budget of any of those movies. Liked this movie. It might have had easily the most disappointing box office of any star wars movie though. ... Copied to Clipboard!

The Last Jedi overall. Solo has a case but I remember some odd artistic choices. Generally, the effects have gotten better with each film, the big exception being Attack of the Clones simply because they put FAR too much emphasis on a technology that just wasnt ready yet. So why not Rise of Skywalker? While the effects were much better than a typical blockbuster (and far better than say Marvel films for instance) it did feel like a step back likely because of the short production time. Still probably the best thing about it other than the score though! --- I just decided to change this sig. Blaaaaaaargh azuarc ... Copied to Clipboard!

I mean most of those films get slated for their effects so not really? The ones that actually get accolades for their effects tend to be the actually good ones. Having said that No Way Home getting an Oscar nomination for effects felt like a consolation prize for the film itself not actually for the effects themselves. --- I just decided to change this sig. Kinda depends on what you mean, I would say The Last Jedi takes it for pure technical prowess + visual design. But on the other hand, Empire Strikes Back is doing more with way less. There's scenes in that movie where you can clearly tell the computers the actors are fiddling with are just some plastic toy bullshit, but it looks incredible because the lighting in the scene is amazing. You don't really see that kind of visual effect at all in modern blockbusters. --- I definitely did not forget to put the 2020 GOTD Guru winner, azuarc in my sig! https://www.backloggd.com/u/aitchdeetee/ ... Practical effects in the OT are amazing. Smudges to erase land speeder tires. Actual painting to populate big scenes of stormtroopers. Space stuff - they blew up a real Death Star miniature.
