Are you walking or running in them a lot? Are they your daily shoe? Mine only last like 6 months, anf I agree it's frustrating. I read that sneakers last like 500 miles before starting to break down.
walking only for running i used to buy ones made for that but i am mostly busy with work so i don't do that for a while now

The more popular something is the less it seems to last lately.

I work standing on my feet a lot, so I used to buy expensive shoes... Now, I've found it way better to just buy cheap, crappy shoes and a good insert.

Loool. I bought these new balance or asics shoes for $130 and they were freaking terrible, wanted to return them. Meanwhile, I bought this one pair of saucony shoes for $60 and they were literally perfect, had everything I was looking for in a shoe.

Sounds about right, I think I got a $40 pair of Levi shoes which... Are honestly great, but the insert wore out in like three months which I just replaced. Been great so far.

Used to be in the car sales business, and let me tell you - hot tar mac is not nice for nicer business shoes. I used to go through so many that when I walked into Belk the man knew what to bring out.

Yeah I hate em. A random recommendation: Check out Salem Techsperts on YouTube, big advocate for repairability. You can't even replace the keyboard without jumping through so many hoops.

I got some Saucony sneakers in September 2022 for $135 and they lasted me exactly 2 years until there was a hole in the soles. So I got new Saucony sneakers in November last year after huge Black Friday discounts (end price was $68 including shipping) and it still feels like new. I wear it every day.

I didn't read topic but if anyone answered "planned obsolescence", good for you.

I hate it. Refrigerators used to last 30+ years, now only 5~ years. You can say the same thing about vehicles life spans, cell phone life spans, the list goes on.

Have a bread maker from the 80s that still works, still actually works flawlessly. Used it during the pandemic.

Sincerely doubt the new stuff could survive 30 years
