Mountains of bills piled up this week and we are left with almost nothing for groceries or anything else for the rest of the week. I come closer and closer to giving up every day.

I can't make it without help, and even with help I'm *barely* doing it. I've already had several people tell/imply to me that I'm draining their bank accounts. Given my situation I simply need money often. And one of my friends from my old internet forum said he can't help me anymore.

Getting my brother on disability has become a major hurdle too. Everything is insurmountable.

What's your situation?

Food pantry? Salvage market?

Brother is heavily autistic, and he never got checked out as a kid, so now he's left equipped only with bipolar and depression as a diagnosis for a disability case. On top of that, he needs specific types of foods every day because of his diet/stomach/GERD problems. A lot of this stuff I can't keep up with on a daily basis because of all the other stuff we constantly need.

Laundry also costs $2 per cycle where I live now, and I don't even have the money for one load this week. I have been unable to find work for MONTHS and my brother is very likely mentally incapable of working. I also have so much else working against me, like transportation being cumbersome and having to be planned out etc. I barely sleep because my life is so chaotic.

Can't afford bills or food, and if I hadn't had help last time I would have had to lose both my internet AND phone.

Food pantries are only once a month. Idk about salvage markets.

I'm going to sleep hungry again. It's 10 AM. I have a whole list of things I need today which includes food.

Yep, woke up hungry, with nothing here to eat but a bunch of canned veggies

It might sound undignified, but dumpster diving might help. My sister has had to rely on it several times over the years and has found not only foods that are still good that businesses toss out, but things like electronics, toys, games, and animal feed.

assisted living is like...$7-10,000/month before insurance.

TC, you could apply to be your brother's official caretaker and usually the state will pay you monthly for that. But it would still require the disability stuff to go through, and with the way the government is right now I can only imagine it taking longer than usual.

With the current administration I have almost no faith in his disability case.

you know you are in the right, try it until it works, and if there are issues try to find someone who can sort it out.
