We were due for another volcano to pop. Too bad it is going to be Spurr though, it is the closest active volcano to Anchorage.

Hopefully not too bad. I was in the Kenai peninsula in '06 and was able to see the Augustine Island eruption. I remember watching it for a few days but I forget how long it lasted.

I used to live in Washington state but Mount Saint Helens blew a year before I was born. So I only ever have read about this

Last time there was about 1/4 inch of ash. It feels, kind of sandy? If you're a gardener there is a silver lining to it all, volcanic ash is really really great. Collect it and mix it into your soil.
