Have you ever been super hyped for something, maybe a game, a TV show, a new hobby, or even a vacation. Only to find out it wasnt for you at all?

I really thought Id love making homemade bread, but after a few disastrous loaves and a kitchen covered in flour, I realised I just dont have the patience to stick with it. After all, if I'm not enjoying it or getting anything out of it, what's the point? I'll stick to brownies & cookies, much easier.

So whats something you thought youd love but ended up hating?

Interesting. What didn't you like about RDR 2, just out of interest? I've not played it personally but I've heard a lot of people say that they loved it.

Tiny Toons Looniversity.

I was hyped for a reboot of the show, since the 2020 Looney Tunes Cartoons and Animaniacs turned out great.

What I got was something sickly sweet and saccharine.

Ive tried to get into it a few times but never get far past the prologue and the game opens up a bit. Everything about it just feels so counter-intuitive. I feel like it controls so badly as to make anything else about it unappealing.

Obviously there will be loads out there who disagree, and thats their right, but I genuinely wanted to like it.

I loved the first game and really wanted to love RDR2 but good that was a slog for me to playthrough. Mechanically it is a great game, but storywise it is such a slow motion trainwreck.

Phantom Menance. I grew up on Star Wars, my dad had a bootleg VHS that my brother and I watched repeatedly one summer, so finally getting a new Star Wars movie was a huge deal. Went to see a midnight showing with a bunch of friends from work and had tickets for two more shows with people that couldn't make the midnight showing. Pretty sure I slept through the second two shows.

Yeah like 100% of the bad video game purchases I made lol, I rarely if ever buy games unless I'm 100% in on them, doesn't prevent me from stepping in shit, so to speak.

Brink was perhaps the first game that started this trend for me.

I like the concept, but not the execution. I found some of the acting a bit too cringe.

I like the world, the characters, I like the story in concept...

But there is some disastrously bad foundational issues with the movie and some of the worst editing I've ever seen in my life.

The movie has a seriously bad "show don't tell" problem where most of the plot is exposition.

I remember loving Romancing the Stone back in the day, but when I watched it again recently it just wasnt that good. Nothing even memorable about it tbh besides the theme song

Torchwood.
It started off good, got a little worse but I hung on.
Then that finale, before the cast change season. Wow that was so horrible I had to stop watching. So I've never even seen the final season. I can't watch now knowing how horrible these people are.

I felt about the same when I tried it. Got through the prologue and got access to roam around while on a mountaintop or something. I got on my horse to explore and it collapsed dead after a minute. So I kept running and I collapsed dead after a minute. So I stopped playing the game.

I've beaten the game, I just ended it feeling basically nothing. I didn't care for the characters or presentation, and that makes an RPG for me

I remember thinking I would like Wall-E, and didn't really care for it. I get that it had a "message" but I just found the movie unenjoyable to watch.

Most of the time, I pretty thoroughly research things I'm going to do / buy. So I don't often end up doing experiences but I don't get some amount of enjoyment out of.

I don't hate it, but I thought I would like Lucy Dacus' discography after falling in love with boygenius and...nah. There're maybe a handful of songs I like, but nothing else does it for me.

Thought of it because I get tons of promotional stuff for Forever is a Feeling and I have...zero interest in it LOL....other than being slightly curious about the songs dedicated to her bestie Phoebe and her boyfriend Julien, the boygenius members whose discographies I care about.
