I always used to play along like WWE wrestling or something thinking it was like kayfabe but they really do...I should probably stop dating overweight women with visible Nightmare Before Christmas tattoos...

A great many people suffer from mental illness. Sometimes those people believe they have magic powers.

True, but it seems far more prevalent with a certain type of woman. I've seen way more female Wiccans than male.

Women (usually more on the Rubenesque side) who are in their 30s that think they are still in a high school clique and pretend to be lesbians because they think guys are into it

There isn't really any difference between Wicca and any other form of spirituality. At the end of the day, it's all just a matter of trying to understand and exert some control over the world around you.

LOL holy shit, what is wrong with you? All adult humans still act like they're in high school and form cliques. This isn't unique to a gender or body type.

I feel like the odds that my tarot readings are inspired by some divinity are very low yet still probably better than some dude's chances against a lion 1v1 w/o weapons.

So, you know, pots, kettles, glass houses, etc.
I primarily view them as a creative way to think about a problem.

100% of men could land a plane in an emergency.

Whether or not it's a good landing, however, is another question entirely, and arguably gravity does most of the landing for them.

Indeed, even a complete absence of a pilot would still land the plane.

Mostly, though, I think that reflects that the basic principle of landing a plane is pretty simple: Slow down, gear down, descend as gently as possible, nose up shortly before you hit the ground. What's hard and does require specialized knowledge is knowing which controls do all of those things, triggering each step at the right time, and having enough of a sense of where the plane is around you. It's classic Dunning-Kruger: Because people know just a little bit about it (and a random layman is more likely than a random laywoman to know anything about flying a plane because that's just the trend seen in STEM-adjacent interests), they underestimate how much more there is that they don't know.

That said, it is also worth noting that "I could land a plane better than an uncontrolled freefall could" is a pretty low bar to clear. I don't doubt that a significant chunk of that half of men actually think they could pull a Sully, because men, but I'd suggest that anyone with the most basic knowledge of "pull back on stick to go up" would be better than having no pilot at all (bonus points if they also know "don't just yank on the stick because that will rip your flaps off").

Different religions have different levels of believability though, why should we treat pagans, Christians and literal cults all the same?

Also mythbusters showed that, with ATC helping out, they landed ok enough everyone lived.

Yeah, if you get somebody telling you what to do and when, that dramatically increases the odds of success. There's a very strong chance that it won't be a very useful plane afterwards, but any landing you can walk away from is a good one.
