The world looks so much more alive in the original IMO. Maybe its the smoothness of the graphics? but something seems missing in the Switch version

I dont like the switch remake, it looks like im playing with a toyset, which is cool and all but as a kid im imagining im link on an adventure, killed the vibe for me personally
like that pic of link we see at :15 was what I was seeing, would have loved to see that realized as opposed to a dolled up version of the original graphics personally

I can understand not liking the art style of the remake, but its very hard to take the idea that the original looks better seriously for me.

The remake was better in every way, the visuals in particular. During my playthrough of the entire series I remember feeling disappointed that I was forcing myself to play the Game Boy version. The Switch version would have put Link's Awakening much higher on my tier list.

I don't like being forced to use the analog stick to control Link in a 2d zelda game, so I prefer the original and DX versions.

The remake has some nice QoL improvements but I never cared for it's aesthetic. DX looks way better.

The Switch version objectively has technically superior graphics but which game looks better is subjective

Left has Soul
Right with an aesthetic , but didn't really do much with it. Toys in a dreamworld motif didn't work too well. any reason why we don't see dogs in later Zelda games?

Only seen screenshots of the switch version but it looks like some diorama parody of the original version. Like looking at the Game of thrones intro vs actually watching the show.

While it's apples and oranges, I kinda like the look of the Switch remake more.

the issue with the right is that it didn't look too different from similar indie titles. Left has more identity.

I enjoyed the switch version. And Ive gone back on NSO and tried play the OG and kept finding it clunky. I loved the DX version and have played it many times since its release. But I think its time to put it to rest

I'm still not sure why they made the controls in the remake like that. It should have controlled more like A Link Between Worlds.

I gave up on Zelda games after I played Ocarina of Time and Oracle of Ages. They just felt like exactly the same game every time. You beat 8 dungeons (getting a weapon specific in that dungeon and using to solve puzzles there) and then fight Ganon. I don't know, maybe the newer games have more to it than that.
