Petty as it is, I would expect it is not actually illegal for the head of the State Department to dictate where and how Department funds are being spent.

This is how I read it as well. Not your personal subscriptions, just the ones that the agency is paying for to keep everyone working there informed on what's going on in the world.

Yep, I didn't read the actual details, so probably not a violation of the constitution but still about as anti-freedom as you can get.

I really should not be surprised. The 47th Administration wants loyalists who follow orders and do not think. If told to go. Just go. Thinking is disloyal.

I have been thinking about this all day trying to make sense of it.

Perhaps state department offices across the world facilitate travel, help American citizens and armed service personnel, help foreigners get visas and apply for asylum. I should have seen it coming that our president plans to sideline this.

What really concerns me is that our president is planning to sideline diplomacy.

I thought the Dems were the cancel culture party.
