This has been making the rounds after this weekend's news. Basically tech billionaires plans to take us into a cyberpunk dystopia where they control everything with Trump CEO and them as the board of trustees who tell him what to do, with Vance being groomed as the next CEO.

I just watched this video yesterday.

Yep, everything these "techbros" are shown on video talking about in this is happening right now.

For what it is worth, plans almost never go through perfectly. These people assume they can just crash the economy (and the important bread and circus that goes with it) and then magically control the American populace.

Look at how quickly the George Floyd protests materialized and that was mostly because people were bored with the quasi Covid lock downs and unemployment was slightly higher than normal.

A true economic crash is going to make American very angry.

That was a fantastic video. I like that they have clips of them saying these things out in the open.

I had a strong feeling that they wanted technocratic feudalism, but them being so blatant and out-there with it is disgusting. I had thought they were more low-key with these beliefs.

That's another plot in this plan that they assume will just go through.

It assumes the military won't feel threatened and preform a coup against the Trump administration.

Even if a purge is successful America is full of gun owners, and not just right wingers.

If people don't have bread and circus and feel they have nothing to lose they will be much more willing to risk their lives against the military.

The US military is designed to break countries at the top level (see how easily Iraq was toppled) but it has a hard time with dealing with insurgencies.

I know it sounds cliche`, but survival itself is a victory. We are unfortunate enough to be here while all this is happening, but we are here. Let's keep it that way.

I post plenty of things, not just doom stuff. A lot of this board has become a doom echo chamber. I rarely see people post about how they help/plan to help/ideas to fix things, that's not a good sign.

Posting here and doing nothing else will not stop bad things.

You understand in the context of stopping America from being destroyed, "the change you want to see" requires far more unpleasant actions than what you're proposing, right?

Cause it may very well come to that, and just getting up and "doing something" isn't as simple as you treat it.

People are going to die if everything crashes. That's unavoidable, and volunteering at the soup kitchen is good work. Absolutely good work, but it's not going to solve the issue at hand.

I wonder how much these morons soiled their pants when China revealed they've taken AI and managed to make it run dozens of times more efficiently while the tech industry the last twelve years has stagnated and just throws unnecessary processing power at all issues in a gigantic rort of the populace.

The EU will become the engineering hub of the world (again) as all the people with educations leave the US and China will continue pilfering those inventions and refining them in useful ways. The US meanwhile will be up shits creek without a paddle.

TBH though the world at this point would probably be better off without the US basically running it. People like to act as if the US being unreliable is some new change but even a cursory look at the World Wars (and the Great Depression) will show the US has always been rather unreliable and that, if anything, the last fifty or so years of stability was an anomaly.

The only way to delay this, is to get conservatives out of office. This includes establishment Dems, as I'm sure they would love being CEOs.
