LightSnake posted... "Hugely successful" means little to Netflix. They had a bad habit of putting out massively bloated budgets, hiding the balls, and even if a show is a huge success, it might not be enough of one to justify that budget continuing. This, if your show is expensive and it's a Netflix Exclusive...you have to be "very very successful" or you're going to get canned. Also being very successful doesn't necessarily mean that you have to keep making it. Maybe the pull from the existing season(s) of the show is enough to draw in subscriptions that retaining subs from making new episodes isn't necessary or even a good deal. ... Copied to Clipboard!

AceMos posted... live action one piece problem is not about success its about its ungodly lengthThat's my point it was a HUGE success but it's also an extremely long show. And with Alabaster taking two seasons It's best to treat each storyline like the last. I would love for it to make it to Enies Lobby (even if it skips Skypia to do so) but I even doubt that. s0nicfan posted... If they're ending Season 2 where I think they are, you'll get something of an ending but keep in mind you're following a list of characters who are the literal personification of abstract concepts that have existed so long that they're above gods because, in Gaiman's own words, gods die when people stop believing in them. Which is to say don't expect anything like "closure."I have a casual knowledge of the comics, and I never really expect an adaptation to follow things closely. But I enjoyed season 1, and I'd like to see some sort of ending written. It doesn't even have to be closure, per se - just a finishing point. --- The food here is terrible. Kaldrenthebold posted... Doesn't sound like it is cancelled, sounds like it has run its course. Like others have said, I don't buy that in the slightest. The first season and the specials covered the first 18 issues of the comics, give or take. The original run was 75 issues, and there have been multiple spinoffs since then. Not all of those issues had Dream as a focal point, but there's plenty of material that could've been covered. This is 100% due to what we learned about Neil Gaiman. bsp77 posted... So given the situation, where s2 is completed and there is no chance for future seasons, would watching this be supporting Gaiman in any way? It's rough. On one hand, what Gaiman's been accused of is absolutely monstrous, and I don't want to support that. On the other hand, Sandman is my all-time favorite comic, and I REALLY enjoyed the adaptation. I typically separate the art from the artist, but I'm not gonna lie; the sheer extent of what's been alleged is making it difficult for me in this case. --- "You need a hobby. AceMos posted... look ad desire I'm not saying it hasn't aged bad, but this stuff very much is portrayed as wrong in the work. A lot of times, someone's works do not lend themselves to being able to 'tell' predatory behavior.
