Do you think it will be for the Switch or the Switch 2?

Kinda thinking they'll be for Switch 2 because I think they've done all they can with the current hardware, and three generations on the same console doesn't feel right. But I also feel like if that's the case it will be released in 2026 instead at the very earliest, which will be even better because I've been saying for a while that Pokemon generations need a longer development cycle than they used to.

So I'm hoping/voting for "not this year".

isn't legends Z-A this year? or is that just gonna be on the regular switch? i guess in november would be 3 years since scarlet and violet. which were 3 years after sword and shield so guess they are about due for a new main game.

i'd prefer to just wait till next year but they'll probably go the sony route and just have a switch 1 and 2 version. charge $10 extra for the switch 2 version even if it's the same thing. but since they haven't confirmed a switch 2 release date or legends Z-A date yet then would make sense for Z-A to come out before the switch 2 so i think switch 2 they might wait till the fall for. Z-A probably spring or summer.

Gen 10's definitely not happening this year. 30th anniversary is next year, no way they aren't dropping it then

Z-A has been confirmed for Switch. I really doubt GF will transition that game to Switch 2 because it's GF lol gen 10 probably has a good chance at being a Switch 2 title tho.

Probably Switch 1, with a Switch 2 version.
There are an absolute shit ton of Switches out there, I don't see them outright ending support immediately.

The fact we didn't have even an ounce of news related to it beyond its initial trailer last year suggests it's going to be a Switch 2 exclusive. Nintendo wants the Switch 2 to come out of the gate swinging for customers so there is a chance if there is a Switch version, it's cancelled for the Switch 2 version.

It's not releasing this year. Scarlet and Violet really struggled at points so it really needs to be a switch 2 title.

I don't think anything currently unannounced is going to be for Switch.

Pokemon games routinely come out for old systems when new ones are out or about to come out (B2/W2, US/UM, etc.). Legends ZA is for sure going to be for Switch 1 and they'll probably be late to the Switch 2 party like they are often with new systems and have Gen 10 come out blazing in 2026.

Switch 2. They haven't done three gens of mainline games on the same console (and I mean brand new games; I don't count Let's Go here despite being part of gen 7, as it was yet another Kanto remake) and after all of the performance issues and debacles of gen 9, I doubt they are particularly eager to follow it up on the same hardware.

Huh. Just realized that Pokemon has never been an opening game for a game console before. It'd be a golden opportunity to change that too.

Glad I was reminded of Z-A releasing this year ITT, if it's as any good as Legends: Arceus, I'm fucking stoked.
