I'm not going to condone murder, but terrorism charges are way too severe for what he is accused of doing. How has Donald Trump received 34 felony convictions, and he gets to be the president for the next four years? Meanwhile, Luigi Mangione is hailed by some as a hero for stopping healthcare claims from being denied, and he may spend the rest of his life in prison? In what way is that fair?

He seems a bit arrogant to me.

Trump pardoned a man who murdered a kid in Iraq. He's seen as a good person by Republicans

Biden pardoned a judge who put innocent kids in prison and at least 1 victim committed suicide

Daniel Penny got away with murdering a black homeless man and now is rewarded with a whirlwind right wing media tour and will probably go into politics eventually

But Luigi is a monster who deserves no mercy apparently

Theres not a single Republican who is more ethical than Luigi, not even amongst just the voters

Luigi Mangione seems to be a somewhat narcissistic guy. Though he did a service to the American working class, and that's really all that matters here. The opinions of the virtue signaling bootlicker moralists need not apply. They are irrelevant to the discussion and the larger movement at play here.

He's certainly not a good person. But I wouldn't call him a bad one, either.

Luigi doesn't need to be hailed as hero. He's an example making an example. Of course some powers are trying to sway the context/narrative of that example, but there's layers his actions dug into in this broken society, and a wake up call/mirror check for a lot of people. Paint some more true colors. But of course, much of those people may still turn a blind eye to admitting at the end of the day, they're not actually any better than him.

I don't want to feed into the "necessary evil" thing, but I completely expect more Luigi's in this world. It just takes the right mix of circumstances of personal resolve and nothing to lose. Much of us are not Luigi because we feel we have a lot to lose. Is it wrong? Well, murder is not necessarily right. This is a commitment to making a wrong in response to another wrong, as well as create disorder; and maybe the real problem is much of us can't be sure or confident in believing it will be a net positive for society going forward.

Gary Plauche shot and killed his son's karate teacher and multiple-time rapist while he was being escorted through an airport by law enforcement. The teacher kidnapped and repeatedly raped the boy. So Plauche intercepted him and shot him dead.

I have no qualms whatsoever saying that that murder does not make Plauche a bad person. We can argue about whether he did a bad thing, but we cannot argue whether he is a bad person for killing the man who kidnapped and raped his son.

Not really bad, but he's a crypto bro so he's most likely an asshole.

Yea. This topic would have had a different reaction if it had been made before the terrorist charges. Now that he a terrorist that killed off any defending of him that was going on last week.

I'd say he's chaotic neutral leaning more towards chaotic good than chaotic evil.

he's a terrorist because rich people want heads to roll and to make an example. he's not a terrorist because of his deeds

A bad person? Not necessarily.

A good person? Definitely not.

Deserves the charges? Yeah pretty much.

Hes woefully misguided and this entire board would've labeled him a chud before 2 weeks ago. But no I dont think he's a bad person.

obviously murder is wrong but at the same time, the CEO he killed was responsible for the decisions he made that killed thousands of people in the name of increasing profits for shareholders
