Just saw an ad for it after starting a show on prime. Did someone really think this was a good idea?

Isn't he being canceled right now for something?

You have to remember, literally fuck all people know or care about internet drama. Go ask people who aren't terminally online who mrbeast is and only a fraction will be able to tell you, and only because his videos occasionally turn up on their unlogged-in youtube feed. Possibly a few would say "oh is that one of those guys that does crazy stunts for money".

That's literally it. That is the level of perception people have about these things. No one knows about MrBeasts drama except for a handful of people who wouldn't have watched a prime show like that anyway. He has wisely not responded to the controversy, so there is nothing for the internet drama wheel to perpetuate.

I haven't even bothered with following the BEASTly drama. I'm just more surprised that someone in charge of prime programming thought it a good idea to give him a game show that's basically the same as his YouTube videos. I only know of him through my son and what his videos are about. Beyond that, I'm in the dark.

His idea is "Squid game with more people "

Young teenagers have very poor taste and decision making skills but consume an absolutely colossal amount of content and are incredibly susceptible to marketing and sponsorships.

This game show is the same one him and the production company basically committed crimes against humanity. Stuff like people sleeping in literal shit, not providing tampons to women, losing peoples' medication etc.

I've never seen a Mr Beast video. But his thumbnails piss me off

Wouldn't someone at prime be far more likely (rather than less) to approve a game show for a YouTube celebrity if said celebrity already had a prototype of that game show and has demonstrated objectively that it pulls in a large number of views and dollars?

You realize I'm not advocating for the show but pointing out why a big business executive might approve versus deny one, right? Like, your brain hasn't rotted that badly has it?

The shows not even out yet even awhile ago him and Amazon are being sued from contestants on it I think

my old coworker worked post-production on the show and she said its been a dumpster fire working with Mr. Beasts crew.

according to Wubby it is super lazy designed

half the games are just please volunteer to quit. oh no one on your team volunteered? everyone is gone now. except they don't talk to each other it just...happens.

I watched the episodes but got bored quite quickly. Beast's stuff is quick-fire stuff. I don't have the interest for a 10-week series.

Also, whilst I understand the backlash about Beast and his colleagues, I'm not sure it's fair to lump it all together.
