Switch 2 is a great time to revive it

It's the definition of average af, but I still enjoyed. Sometimes you just need games to be just that.

It got too much hate, but it really kind of shot itself in the foot by advertising itself as this big FE x SMT crossover and then being pretty different than either series. That old teaser with a bunch of characters from the series REALLY set up expectations that it didn't try to deliver on.

It was good enough, but it was largely the worst of both worlds.

Pretty much this.

The teaser showed FE x SMT and then a long period of silence followed by what can loosely be described as FE x Persona. Atlus really ought to have communicated the change in direction prior to a full reveal. The whiplash was bound to make people mad otherwise.

Worse still, there was censorship, and (sorry for using this term) "weebs" are probably the group that hates censorship the most.

Put it all together and you have a game that appeals to no one...and hence why we aren't getting more entries.

One of my favorite games. Absolutely love it, and plan to replay it soon. Metaphor got me wanting to.

There was no way Chapter 2 was going to make it anywhere other than Japan.

And that was beside the fact that was the biggest outlier in a game that otherwise extolled the brighter side of Japan's entertainment industry.

I wanted to try it for a very long time but the amount of censorship is very off putting.

That was one of the few Sbfp playthroughs that I couldn't get into. I would put it on when I was trying to go to sleep.

IIRC, the Wii U version outsold the Switch version in Japan because they decided to bring the Western censorship to the latter.

I still have no idea how a crossover between Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei of all things results in a modern day setting focused on idol stuff.

If you don't want it, just get the original Japanese Wii U version.

Two problems with that. 1. No English translation for that version. 2. The Wii U is region-locked.

Nintendo apologized to the Japanese audience for the censorship in the Switch version.

Anyway, the Wii U version has a decensorship patch if Western folks want to experience the game that way.

Oh I know that. Still, the censorship was bound to ruffle feathers and did impact Japan as well when it ended up even in the Japanese Switch version.

Again, at least there is a patch to remove the censorship in the Wii U version if you want to experience the game as it originally was.

I have that game!

Probably won't get around to playing it before I die though.

I really liked it, fun Atlus jrpg with FE references from throughout the series. That smt x fe crossover trailer ruined its perception among prospective fans. An example of why you shouldnt announce too early. And yeah its kind of insane that got idol shit from FE and smt lol

i wish wed get a real fe SMT crossover with a real post apocalyptic tone
