It's a BOTW-like that's slightly below Fenyx: Immortals Rising at best and its main gimmick is having a shitload of random anime waifu characters you can spend money on to play. That's about it.

How much do you hate your bank account?

Tried it, only get to first city and lost interest.
Also the gacha is very horrible? So bad that average gacha players are turned off from it.

The game world is pretty and fun to explore to a point. Cracks show pretty quick though.

It shares SOME visual style from BotW but I think the comparisons are MASSIVELY overblown, the game is really nothing like BotW.

Anyways, my suggestion is always to stay away from gacha games.

I say this as someone who has been playing Genshin for 2-3 years: stay the fuck away. The only thing that this game has going for it is the phenomenal music, which you can enjoy without wasting your time on any attempts to play it.

No. The dialogue is infuriating at worst and boring at best.

Also, since it's a gacha the game will do it's best to make sure you can never truly enjoy the game without spending money.

I have almost 1300 hours in the game and I wish I never started. It's like reading a book or watching a movie where it's all exposition and buildup but no pay off.

And the princess in another castle bullshit can fuck right off.

It's ok. It has a very long story where you need to visit each of the world's seven kingdoms. You resolve each nations current conflict and reveal part of the overarching story about a mysterious godly force, attacks from the abyss(basically hell) and a god led coalition of human terrorists stealing powerful artifacts.

The world is full of gods, spirits, and elemental humans with powers. There a pool of permanent characters always available, and a set of 2 special characters that are only available for a few weeks. You have to grind up points(or buy them) for just a chance at getting those characters. And if you miss them, it could be more than a year before they get a rerun.

My biggest complaint, and it's a certainly a big one, is just how long it takes to complete the quests. These characters talk, and talk, and talk, on and on and on, explaining every detail of everything just to let you out of the cut scene so you can walk 5 steps to activate the next 10 minutes long conversation. Sometimes, there are quests that in any other game should take like 2-3 minutes and this game manages to draw it out to be an hour of cut scenes explaining exactly why you need to get a specific flower for that guy's girlfriend's birthday. It'll be blocked off into like 5 different scenes each one lasting like 5-10 minutes each(for the basic quests), arriving to talk to the quest giver, stepping away from them to talk about their request, a reminder cutscene of what they wanted upon arriving at the destination, another when you find the objective, another after completing the objective, another when arriving back to area the quest giver was reminding you about them, another long one when you complete the quest, and maybe another afterward to discuss it further.

There is just. SO. MUCH. DIALOGUE. And the game has so many quests, some activate with no warning just by walking through an area.

Haven't played it but I can tell you just from the fact that it's F2P that it's a grindy nightmare that will put the grindiest non-f2p game to shame.

I love the game, of course! The exploration is wonderful, the combat is just complex enough to be interesting without getting too convoluted, the story has its highs and lows, the characters are pretty great (especially if you like cute anime girls), the music is consistently top notch, the world is fascinating, and the current main story arc has been pretty killer. It's just overall a really enjoyable experience~

The problem is that there's just so much. I can't even fathom the notion of starting it as a new player today, not with how much one would have to do just to catch up with the main story (which is required for participation in a lot of limited-time events). And that's to say nothing of new characters you might pull who you can't even build because the areas where you can get their materials are still dozens of hours away.

Like, if you think you can deal with that, then I absolutely recommend it, it's a genuinely fun experience. I just wanna be totally up front about how much there is to get through for a new player.

It's a cute game, I think of it as like a seasonal generic slice of life anime where you shouldn't be expecting some epic story or anything but it is enjoyable if you like those kinds of things. Been playing since it came out and still have fun with it now, and still basically use two of the free characters they give you near the start to clear everything lol. It is free so doesn't hurt to try it for like 2-4 hours, if you don't enjoy it for that amount of time then it's probably not for you since the gameplay doesn't really change up significantly enough each new area you get to
