Ever since Hasbro killed it I've been looking for a card game that can match what Netrunner was able to achieve and failed. Hasbro loaned out the license to netrunner to Fantasy Flight Games who adapted it into an "LCG" model. In other words, one of the extremely few card games that is NOT gacha. What you would do is buy expansion packs that had preset cards. No more gambling, you get what you get. I assume Hasbro loaned it out under the assumption that Netrunner was a failure the first time and it would undoubtedly fail again, so this license agreement was just free money. But then people recognized the quality of Netrunner and it actually started to get seriously popular. My local game store hosted weekly netrunner sessions. What killed it was that it came time to renew the license for Netrunner, Hasbro turned FFG down because it was actually competition for Magic the Gathering.
