I recently bought Omori off the Steam Autumn sale because I guess I wanted a sad rpg and I remember someone mentioning it in a topic I made on a different board here. Omori seems pretty damn sweet. I wasn't sure at first, but after a couple hours I am into it. Anyhow I mostly wanted to mention that Oddity game. I went looking up for news about it and it is essentially the news is the same since it was rebranded as Oddity. Which is no news. I actually thought maybe they had released a demo at some point and people just completely forgot about it (even youtubers) but nope there really is no news pretty much since 2020 (and even before then there wasn't much).

Wasn't oddity officially cancelled? Last time i heard is that it's canned

That's odd. I was looking on Reddit and some other places and it apparently still was being worked on but its total radio silence. I didn't find a source saying it was cancelled.

I swear it had a steam page now it doenst, so idk. But it aint coming anytime soon so just assume it's not ever gonna come

Pour one out for the folks I guess who never got their dream sequel or fan inspired game released I guess then. There are a lot of games that have Earthbound/Mother vibes since this was first announced back in.....

Is that based off the Mother 4 release date because in my research people posted that all over the youtube trailer for Oddity and in some reddit posts. I didn't quite get the reference. Gosh I wish it was still winter 2014.

Well I completed the junkyard and well a couple of other events. I actually don't know much about this game other than there is a "home life" and a "fantasy life." So I guess at the risk of minor spoilers I'll just mark this. I at first went out into the real world but I had a save right before this so I decided to just be a shut in instead. Because eh in that kinda mood. I figure these choices will lead to a different ending. That prologue was rather long. I spent several hours in it and I was not just leaving the game on pause lol I must just like to just slowly walk most times and I wasn't even training out battles either except for one time I only needed seven more bunny defeats to get an item so I was just like screw it, while I am here.

Yeah Omori is a bit of a slow burn at the beginning, but the way the story unfolds is done really well

You're correct that the choice leads to different endings, but actually entirely different routes at some point with unique content to both; I'd suggest keeping that save and doing both

I only knew it had to rebrand from Mother 4 into something else

Snowman is great song. That's a nice rendition. I should get back to Omori as I shut it down to make this topic and check the weather and see the news in the living room because it snowed here and a decent shot, but not so much compared to surrounding towns.

Nice looking out. I never heard of that one. Bloomtown came out recently, but I hadn't gotten to that one yet. At the time it came out I was just like eh, someday. I'll likely try it. I heard about that one about a year before it came out.

I get it especially in this day and age. It does seem silly to make a game for free and release it for free. Back in 2014 or earlier this seemed more noble and cool. That trailer this released for Oddity was rad looking. Maybe they should have just released what they had for Mother 4 and be done with it, instead of trying to rebrand it. The worst thing that could happen is that it get Crimson'd of Echoes'd by SquareEnix but at least it is still out there. That was the Chrono Trigger sequel for those who weren't sure.

Yeahh they should have just released what they had years ago, rushed or not.

Rpgs are always a bigger time investment for everyone. I read Mother 4 had a closer to completion state but it was scraped because they decided to start over with new branding.

Don't believe a DMCA takedown was issued but why just toss all that away with nothing to show other than some new music.

Yeah if this was still coming out you likely would see more updates as time passed. No way in hell is this game having active development but they can't be bothered to show off anything over like 10+ years.

This Omori game is really funny at times. I stopped playing it though I should have kept with it but the wi-fi crash real life did distract me. I honestly thought something about Oddity could have come out over this time since 2018 or so.

I admit. I won't play Undertale b/c it got too ahead of me, spite w/e. No one talks about Omori and I just fell into it and I was like I should try this. I looked into that and it didn't seem to connect, but it'd be nice if someone made me a crown of flowers.
