Homelessness is a very complex issue. Theyre people whove been cast to the wayside and many have unresolved addictions and mental issues. Not all homeless people are on drugs causing chaos. In fact, id say most probably arent.

However, Idk why people are shitting on tc so much. His topic title was strongly worded, which he literally admitted and apologized for. Why are people acting like its not acceptable to be upset that a homeless dude starts kicking your car

I watched a homeless guy start a fight with a total stranger at work today. Guy getting punched was just a tourist minding his own business and some dude tried to gank him for some reason. Maybe to steal his shopping bag.

He was too scrawny to do any damage at least but it was pretty awful. And that kind of shit is so normalized here that the guy just walked away before the cops could come.

So I paid for my truck... worked my ass off for that money. And I just have to take it because my life could be worse? Huh? Shit, man.. like I'm sorry you're going throughout it but I didn't do anything to you to warrant damaging my property.

Anyway.. I've actually seen this guy for like 2 years. Outside a food 4 less. He always seemed so chill. So I didn't expect it from him. It was odd

Im just going to say this, 100% of the cases of homelessness are unfortunate. Also, the vast majority of homeless people are totally benign and dont deserve to be viewed negatively.

That said, there is definitely a not insignificant amount of them who menace society in different ways who have their behaviour hand waved away way too flippantly. I expect this is often from people who are never forced to have any interaction with homeless people at all. I have had the displeasure of working in an area has me deal with homeless people regularly and dealing with the regular vandalism, harassment, aggression, fires, filth, theft, discarded needles, etc. is very upsetting. I feel sorry for all homeless people but Im not going to lie and say that I think this behavior from a certain minority of them is okay.

It's hard to take anything seriously from an account that has a history of making weird bait topics like "This 18 year old girl is in my DMs" every other month, is all.

I agree. But there's also a lot of personal accountability that isn't being mentioned.

Many homeless people end up that way because they're mentally ill and addicted to drugs, and they've burned so many bridges and fucked up so bad. That is why the end up where they are. There's no question if I have sympathy for them, but they're also often troublesome and aggressive. You can actually see itt who has been exposed to homeless aggression and who hasn't.

Like if I come out of the store, and some bum is kicking my car. His history doesn't matter to me, he's choosing to violate me right now. There's no excuse for that.

so what we need is mental health care facilities that are free

and rather than criminalize drugs we should work on helping people get off them like rehab but its something for everyone rather than rich people
