Long story short on why, I barely bumped a car backing out of a spot. She pulled up behind me and I didn't realize it. All she wanted to do was scream at me and I unfortunately got mad and drove off. Gave her plenty of time to approach and get my info though. I even waved her over but I wasn't getting out because of how angry she was acting.

Anyways cop put the cuffs on too tight and id know I've probably cuffed more people than he ever will. (Hell had a inmate actively resisting and he said I put them on too tight and I asked him if he'd calm down if loosen them. He did them the fight was back on lol) He didn't read me my rights despite questioning me. Then we get to the jail and magistrate told him I shouldn't have been arrested, just served papers

I ended up walking home thirsty as hell and couldn't do nothing about that cause I didn't have my wallet or anything on me. Nobody answered my phone calls. My mom had called them and they said I was still there and they'd be done in a minute. I was already half way home. They had told me a friend was coming to get me. I don't have friends here

Turns out my best friend who lives half the country away had called ready to pay my bail and said he'd arrange for me to be picked up up.

Side note. It was very hard for me to not feel like I was at work. Took everything in my power to not chew this woman out who kept banging on her door. Like I get it you want something but the cop has done ignored you for 10 minutes already what's banging and yelling at him gonna accomplish? I finally did say something to her but only because she spoke to me directly telling me to ask the cop if he heard her. I told her he has ears I'm sure he heard you. And I left it at that.

Yes I got charged. I have ate a ham sandwich since then but not that day or the day of the arrest. And no I'm not a hardened criminal. Though it's a neat experience to be on the opposite side of things. Most upsetting thing was I was sitting next to a guy who was completely in restrained. He ended being booked and put in a cell meanwhile I'm cuffed and got let free. That made no sense

I wasn't arrested same day my man. I was woken up out of bed when they arrested me.

I can't remember why I was in such a bad mood. This happened months ago. Just took them that long to get around to me. Dunno if it just took that long to find me or it was just low priority.

I always have my wallet on me when I drive. I have a super thick wallet I easily notice if I don't have it. Never made it out of my driveway without realizing I didn't have it.

I said what I said about cuffing more people because we cuff people all the time just out of procedure even if they aren't currently being defiant or having had done something.

Most definitely. Had a guy get arrested for assault (civil he wasn't on duty) though and he still works there. He got the charges dismissed though. Cop told me the charges will likely be dropped and I just pay out some money. So here's hoping. But I got a back up plan just in case. Said best friend who tried to bail me out is willing to hook me up with a job.

I'm gonna use the same lawyer he did though. Cause be all accounts he was a whole ass during the entire process and still got the charges dismissed. Broke his own foot kicking the jail cell door lol.

That was a shitty thing though. He shoved his father who then fell and scraped his arm. I can't imagine parents getting their own kids arrested over minor stuff.

No I told it like it was. I fucked up and got mad already in a bad mood and left the scene of a accident. No major damage done. There isn't even so much as a scratch on my car. Doesn't excuse it though.

In no way am I trying to justify my actions. I just wanna talk about it. I like getting stuff off my chest.

I honestly wish I could have contacted that woman and settled things. But I didn't even know how to go about trying that. It has crossed my mind

I honestly don't know how I would have resolved it. I didn't know that woman. I never saw her get on the phone. My dumbass thought I was good after a week and nobody came for me. Hell my brother says he got pulled over in my car but they just said the plates didn't match who they were looking for. So I thought I was good.

Once again I fucked up. I won't deny that.

It sounds like its two separate events.

He left the scene of an accident in a parking lot in which the victim was a raging Karen. He was having a shitty day and didnt want to deal with it. (Not the smartest thing but I get it).

They served an arrest warrant at his house at some later date. Waking him up taking him in and processing him only to release him shortly after.

Sucks man. Get a lawyer. It sounds like minor shit that the court system wont want to waste time on. Just make sure your employer knows whats going on and that you expect the charges to be dropped.

.yes that about sums it up. And yes I have a obligation to inform my employer of even a speeding ticket. So that will be done too. I can't believe my mom lied to them and said I had been in a accident and I was asleep. Woman means well but she's done quite a bit to fuck me over lately.

I get that its CE and many people dont leave their house that much but in the grand scheme of things that you could be arrested for this is pretty small potatoes. Avoidable? Sure. Shows poor decision making? Yes. But people have shitty days and bad things happen. Not wanting to deal with a seemingly crazy person after a fender bender in a parking lot isnt that weird.

I doubt his employer will even care so long as he notifies them. Not drugs, not violence, not fraud or theft or a showing of a lack of moral character or anything like that. I have had to fire people for unlucky criminal stuff and this would not be at that level unless there was a failure to notify or some other kind of issue that isnt clear.

Nothing. Cop got told he shouldn't have even arrested me. Just served me the papers. So I got let out on a unsecure bond. I was there maybe 30 minutes.

Ifnact my best friend has been the one egging me on saying I haven't already been arrested so I was good. Telling me they'd be on top of that shit. Well he was wrong.

The Sidenote is the part that was really throwing me off. She was somebody at the station, banging on the (cell?) door.

Most likely just low priority. Especially if the lady only got a partial plate number before you left. I did clerical work in a police station before and they got a ton of hit and run reports that didn't really go anywhere.

But yeah, for future reference, if you do ever get into a situation like that again where you get into a minor fender bender, but don't feel safe talking to the other person, go report the accident at your local PD and explain that you didn't feel safe staying at the scene. That way you're at least covering your ass

No. Miranda rights are only for custodial interrogations. Even if they don't read you your rights in a custodial interrogation, that just means they can't use your answers in court.

Ok so I've seen posts of word salads etc. sorry I had a few drinks in me when I made this topic. Any clarification needed specificy which part.

I saw one saying something about my side note. I was just stating it was hard for me to spepterare the reality of the situation from being at work. I work at a detention center so when one who was in a cell was being problematic it was everything in my power to not handle it. Some things just become second nature after awhile but I knew it wasn't my place so i was biting my tongue so to speak.

I don't believe anyone has said anything too harsh to me so far. As said numerous times I realize I fucked up. I've said the same things to my friends and family. But I expect them to comfort me. I expect strangers like y'all to to tell me how it really is.
