We all knew he was gonna win the election

But with like 3-10 million less votes as always due to a dodgy broken miserable election system.

America is supposed to hate fascism, its supposed to be a vocal minority under masks who use underhanded tactics to succeed

But no... most of America is now that evil or that stupid. There is no longer any excuse or plausible deniability

And no one is even fighting back.

We failed
We failed our country, we failed our values, we failed our planet and we failed our children.

We won't recover from this. Even the absolute best case scenario now is just decades of mitigating the damage. Nationally and globally.

And I don't think we're gonna get the best case scenario

I just feel so disappointed and depressed . We lost, humanity lost.

The 9/11 terrorists won. We gave in
Russia won. We rolled over
Fear and suspicion won. We abandoned science and rationality

But for a few glorious years a handful of sociopathic billionaires will have more zeroes on some spreadsheets

He got fewer votes total than 2020.

This has everything to do with voter apathy and the perception that the Biden administration couldn't keep the cost of living prices down.

Maybe the pendulum swings back in 4 years. It depends entirely on if Trump fucks up and if our government still has elections by then.

IDK if that quote has ever been more true than it is today. We saw Trump and the GOP use the same tactics that Hitler and the Nazis did in the 1920s and 1930s, but very few people even realize how similar they are to each other.

Meh. She got 4 million fewer votes in Cali than Biden did. I'm sure a lot of Cali voters were apathetic bc their vote doesn't matter but don't actually like Trump.

Similarly a million fewer votes in NY. If those people came out she takes the popular vote within gaining anything in the EC.

I'm starting to think people just flat out dislike Harris more than Trump. It could explain why Trump has more votes than 2020 and Harris having 20 million less than Biden. Or maybe people just had no idea who she was or why she was running. She only started running a few months ago.

I mean, he is not wrong.

Think about the people that Trump appeals to. Why do they like him? The most common answer will be that he tells it like it is, for whatever that means.

The truth is that Trump speeches resonate with people because he goes off script. He doesn't just read from a prepared speech. These are people that don't don't like listening the usual political talk aka "word salads".

A lot of Americans are simple people and go with what they understand. Trump resches them in a way the dems simply do not.

Dems basically needed another Obama.

Trump is absolutely nothing like Obama. Word salad does not mean political talk. When cons say this theyre saying Kamala is incompetent and doesnt know how to speak properly. These are the people who rally against her literally for the way she laughs.

Listening to a Trump speech in full should not speak to any sane person. Its literally incomprehensible half the time.

Not arguing that. But to them it feels more honest because he isn't just reading. That really is as deep as it goes.

Word salad can also mean "a bunch of words that go on and on and I lost interest a long time ago".

A lot of Americans are stupid. Just is what it is. It comes down to charisma above all. Trump speaks in a way that stupid people understand.

And no, I have no doubts in my mind Obama would destroy Trump if he were able to run. Real charisma with leadership is what we need.

It's the same thing that won 2016, a huge leg up on the social media presence and propaganda.
Unfortunately, this year isn't the aberration, it was 2020 since Trump did so badly. Heck, maybe even 2008 was the aberration as well and Republicans will win every time unless they colossally dump on the economy like 2008 and 2020.

Theyre still counting votes but hes already passed his 2020 vote count.

it should also be put into context that this election had one of the highest voter turnouts in the past 100 years. 2020 was historic, mainly due to Covid, but this year election is only slightly behind.

Biden got 11.1 million in CA in 2020 and Trump got just over 6. According to the AP, CA's currently at 73%, with Harris a little under 7.5 million with 58.8% and Trump at 4.8 million with 38.4%. If the current percentages hold, probably another 2.5 million for Harris and 1.6 million for Trump. That would put Trump about 2 million ahead of his 2020 PV total, and Harris a few hundred thousand behind Trump's 2020. If the remaining CA vote heavily favors Harris, plus the ~10% left in Oregon and Washington, she could top Trump's 2020, but I don't see her topping Trump's 2024 count unless that "secret" Trump and Mike Johnson have was manipulating vote totals.

Ultimately, it comes down to an uneducated, apathetic electorate. Say what you want about his and hers campaign, but fact of the matter is people just do not understand what the GOP wants to install in this country.

So many people had no idea about Project 2025, or understand how the tariffs work, or understand how vehemently Trump lies. These just are not things that matter nor register to your average Joe on the street.

Social media being in the pocket of the ultra wealthy certainly doesn't help either.
