Eh, I put it slightly better than Dark Souls 2 and worse than everything else by FromSoft by a mile.

It's a 9/10 that I've beaten 2.5 times that I intensely dislike, so I don't know what to vote.

Love the game... I'm absolute garbage at it but I do like it a lot...

yes ng+8 @ 99 attack power 140 hrs still fun to do a playthru every couple months or so

It has some great moments, but overall it's about a B.

I played 90% of it incorrectly, so I'm pretty sure it colors my impression of it. You know how you're supposed to like parry and stuff? Instead, I just played it like Souls and chip damaged all of the bosses to death. They took forever/required me to not mess up and I never properly learned the parry mechanics until the very end.

Love it. The Fountainhead Palace is one of my favorite FromSoft areas.

First bump

I tried playing it a few times but ended up getting distracted by other games. It seems good, and I like From/Souls games, but it hasn't held my attention yet. Not sure if I enjoy the parry mechanic.

Difficult but immensely satisfying once you get it down. The feeling of joy upon defeating Sword Saint Isshin is yet to be beat.

It's better than Demon's Souls, and Dark Souls 2 & 3.

Game simply never clicked with me. I made it to the final boss and dropped.

a lot of people have tried to get me to play it but it's hard to tear away from ds1.

i'm kinda imagining that the parry window is actually pretty wide and that it follows elden ring rules (parry early).

People were hugely exaggerating how hard the learning curve was for parrying. It is 100x easier than the traditional Souls games. In fact most enemies can be beaten using the 1,1,1,2 method.

and there is essentially no penalty for partial parries outside of hard mode

Do Halo 3 next

The SoulsBorneRing (Souls trilogy, Bloodborne, Elden Ring) franchise is my favorite video game franchise of all time, love all those games, but Sekiro is the only game I havent played. Im scared that I wont like it or wont be able to get into it, so Ive yet to give it a shot and buy the game yet. It just seems so drastically different which is what worries me. Doesnt help that it doesnt go on sale too often or for that great of a price.

Maybe one day Ill go for it but I dont see it happening anytime soon, cant even say why really. I just dont know.

The only from game that deserves its rating and doesnt have the major glaring flaws which, because of the unusual privilege from games enjoy from publications, are usually ignored in reviews when it comes to other from games.

Has the best and most refined combat in any Fromsoft game, hell yes I do. It takes a bit to click with the game, but once you do, you can pretty much consistently no hit every boss with just your blade and it feels amazing. The only real downside is the lack of builds/different weapons making the game a lot less replayable than a standard Soulborne.

I really wish they added a Boss Rush into their other games, but oh well.
