Mate, it sounds like youre still carrying a lot of negative emotions from that time in your life and allowing them to define you. If youre of the typical age range for this board, its been around 2 decades. For your own sake you need to let that shit go. If you cant do it on your own, get some professional help because holding all that negativity so firmly is only hurting you.

I can't deny that. But the way I see it is I let it defeat me long ago and it's kind of too hard to reverse. I'm not sure what unpacking it does at this point instead of trying to mindfully work on everything I feel like I missed.

Being the curly, late bloomer, impulsive ADHD kid with glasses was too hard to over come, and it too negatively painted my perceptions on all those people. There's no bridge to mend there.

Probably not the ones in High School. Especially not the one I caught dumpster diving for rusted bent wrenches he claimed were "still good". And one of them died of a heroin overdose. But they were in a different grade.

People in my grade stopped bullying me in Middle School, and in High School almost all of them were in Cliques independent of me. Any time the ones I knew more from Middle School floated a "you should hang out with us" it had an incredibly bad vibe and it sounded like they wanted to get me drunk or something because they thought it would be funny and they were the goof off stoner types I really didn't like anyway.

High School was weird because I went from fine to feeling like I lost another friend to some of my behavior and clique shit and throughout would run into older people who would just be like "DOOORK. Hey, you should shave that THING and maybe the girls would actually like you!" and there just wasn't much socializing outside of marching band and most of the time there I was kind of an odd one out.

Oh you meant in the military. They look at 20 yrs same as like 40?

The basic underlying perks tend to be the same (such as access to military exchanges and the commissary, lifelong medical insurance), but you get more pay the longer you serve.

I went to an Alternative High School the entire time I went High School. There were only around 50+ kids there. If I went to a high school reunion, I wouldn't recognize over 99% of people there.

There was someone from the Alternative High School who recognized me at the gym a few months back, and I couldn't remember who he was. My memory is just not that good, and I really didn't chat with too many of my fellow students, back when I went to school.

Going to a reunion would be kinda pointless for me.

I know there was a 5 and a 10 for my class but I didn't go. There's not much reason, the few good friends I had in HS I still keep in touch with IRL or through Facebook/e-mail. I don't care what the rest of them are doing.

It's for those who struggle at school. Mostly D students, slackers, and troublemakers go to that kind of school. My brother and I both went to the Alternative school.

I had a bad habit of being a slacker, and not staying focused on school work and doing other things instead. I got quite a few 0s for not doing my homework, but I still managed to graduate in the end.

Yup yup. It was quiet and weird for a few minutes then everyone started drinking and it was a blast.

My 10 year reunion would have been in 2020 so I assume it was canceled due to covid

Yeah but you dont do it for those people or to build bridges with them. You do it for yourself in order to help in the present.

I saw him at a recycling center and part of it was a metal scrap area, someone threw away these destroyed looking wrenches in the pile and he was going to take them to actually use to fix things, even though it was like 1 inch of usable wrench handle before it turned into this warped rusty mess like it had rusted in the middle and it had snapped off while being used or something. It wasn't even a crescent wrench or pipe wrench it was like the kind you can get at Home Depot as like a 50 dollar set.

Nope. I didn't keep in touch with anyone from HS. I was so glad when I graduated and got a job at Target and enrolled at CC. No more HS clique/bully bs.
