My coworkers and I have a bet about whether he will call her the n-word before Election Day. If you're going to use one offensive slur, you're probably going to use another. After using the r-word, is it only a matter of time before the n-word slips out? And will that actually hurt his chances of winning the election, given that his base probably isn't likely to get offended over it?

To my knowledge, he hasnt said a racial slur during his entire political career. Hes said idiotic and insensitive things, but not slurs. Cant image thatll happen in a few weeks.

Not necesserially; some people from older generations (not just boomers but even gen X / older millenials) don't see the R word as being on the same level as other slurs.

Lots of (often bigoted) people still use the r-word who wouldn't actually use the N-word. I'd also like to remind you that it was still a very common insult a mere 20 years ago.
Hell, even a sizable percentage of people racist against blacks frown upon the N-word. Whether or not Trump does is anyone's guess. Just because someone reports hearing Trump use it doesn't mean it's true. I'll remind you guys that some of the shit people claim to have witnessed Trump do is obvious bullshit, such as literally eating government documents because he doesn't want them archived (I'm not going to bother listing all of the reasons why this is obvious bullshit) I'm not even sure the "WH bathroom was always getting clogged due to Trump frequently flushing documents down the toilet" is true.

That said, it would not surprise me if Trump went on a racist rant about Harris, I just don't think he'd actually drop the N-bomb. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't gone on an incredibly racist rant already.

That would hurt his (and his family's} businesses really bad. Plenty of assholes and idiots still do business with him despite ALL of his accumulated shit, but dropping the N-bomb in public or drinking the antisemitic koolaid would be a step too far for a lot of them. (Also, it would be super fucked up if Trump did the latter)
