Yeah it's not just prepubescent girls. They're lolis because they look like a child, even if they aren't. That's why there's the anime meme of "Loli that's actually a 3000 year old dragon"

This is why people care more about looks than age these days. And even applying it to IRL too. A character can be considered 30-40 but because they look like a kid, the rules state they are. It's a safe than sorry situation.

As I said, many sites have a "Safe than sorry" mentality. And our culture equates age to height. There's been stories, even from actual VTubers how police and security haggle them down, thinking they're a lost child or a child drinking alcohol when they're an adult.

as I said I think there is a clear difference between petite and having child-like proportions. The mentioned Cyberpunk character doesnt look like a child

She is petite and the anime stylization makes her face look neotenious but her body type isnt prepubescent, she has hips and her head isnt bigger than her shoulders. Its a body type real adults have. But Ive seen people call her a loli on twitter which I think its problematic because people associate that term with pictures of sexualized children and child-like characters. This is different than characters with big heads and prepubescent body proportions.

Doesnt a substantial part of Twitch viewership consist of hot tub, beach volleyball, body painting, fitness and just chatting streams by adult actresses showing off their real-life anatomy & trying to funnel traffic to their external p**n sites? Reddit guidelines mean even if something like that was kept, even if it is official work, it'd cause advertisers to pull out the site. That is why this keeps happening.

The rules TC is talking about are specifically under Youth Safety. It's not targeting ALL Vtubers. It's specifically the ones with child-like appearances. They don't want any sexual content that features children. Framing this all targeting Vtubers is disingenuous.

Twitch prohibits any content or activity that endangers youth. This includes content that features or promotes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and the sexual exploitation, sexual misconduct or grooming of youth (which is defined by this policy as minors under 18).

Enforcement Notes and Clarifications [content warning]:

Depicting fictional anime characters of a child-like appearance (lolis/shotas) with any kind of sexual framing is not allowed. This applies to VTubers and within games where avatars are uploaded, such as VRChat, with child-like avatars even if the broadcaster and operator of the avatar is above the age of 18.

Any humor regarding anything sexual in relation to minors will result in immediate action on your account.

Yeah anime stylization makes characters appear much younger since the face is very simplified. Typical anime faces are very child-like (big eyes, small mouths, almost non-existent noses, big heads and round faces) which makes it a bit harder to judge in this context. Some characters are much more exaggerated than others, theres an anime character that has a big head and the face of a child but big boobs that Ive seen posted around, but I think the cyberpunk example doesnt have as much of a child-like face as your typical anime character.

The biggest streamer on Twitch is a vtuber Ironmouse.

I don't really understand why they hate vtubers so much? These rules are so vague (aside from the hip one which was oddly specific) they could potentially (and have been prior to this) ban any vtuber for any (no) reason at all.

Also the skimpy thing is actually insane. They have actual hot tub streams and the "boob" streamers who all just use twitch as an advertisement for their onlyfans, but vtubers who largely don't peddle sex are a problem?

I'm okay with this so long as they can apply this to real people too. If an animated depiction of something is bad, I don't see how the real thing that it's depicting isn't also bad.

I think the only issues they've had with minors is specific streamers trying to appeal to them in very inappropriate ways. However there are defo vtubers that get caught up in it too even if they're not even remotely suggestive.

It's more the attire policy that I question. It's famously inconsistent and they come down way harder on vtubers than other streamers. I don't see the logic in skimpy women basically doing softcore in a hot tub being fine, but a vtuber who's model is an attractive adult playing a game being banworthy.

Advertisers. Imagine what an advertiser thinks when they see stuff on the outside. They don't know anime or VTubers and have a very conventional idea on what is an adult. You can easily tell a hot tub streamer is an adult but to them, seeing a cartoon girl in skimpy clothing automatically makes them worried. Especially since people still aren't out of the whole "Cartoon = children" phase and they would see anime as such.

People keep citing how it is a "Slippery slope of censorship" but I'd rather be full of censorship than have it run free.

And the only reason why Gamefaqs is lax as it is because they'd have to outright ban certain game franchises entirely and it'd be a hassle to remove them. But it'd be good to have it removed.

Anime style makes things a lot more complicated due to the childlike faces characters have, when you add petite characters into the mix its very hard to separate a petite adult from a child-like character. Hell a lot of anime characters have adult bodies but childrens faces.

it's a little bit of an odd situation. There isn't any real pornography, but it definitely lascivious. You have a lot twitch streamers that are just softcore advertising their OF. Most big names aren't doing this, but a few really big streamers have basically built their entire career around showing as much as they can get away with. There was literally a meta of hot tub streaming in bikini's to farm views and I remember one girl had her gameplay vid layered on a upskirt stream of her ass.
