Really enjoyed last week's episode. Annatar and Celebrimbor are both great this season.

This is the last episode for the season.

It was nice to see Durin's Bane again. The Sauron/Galadriel fight was also done well.

Really enjoyed the finale and the whole season tbh.

A massive increase from the first one, just sad we didnt get more Elrond and Durin.

Near all of the main cast was great this season and was wonderful seeing Celembrimbor's downfall and how he was manipulated.

So if that guy is Gandalf and not a blue wizard the other guy is Saruman.

Little early for him to discuss wanting to take over middle earth?

Yeah, it's weird. I can't imagine it's anybody but Saruman, as the audience would have no clue who the fuck Alatar the Blue Wizard is.

I didn't think Gandalf ever went to Ruhn, I figured the Stranger was Saruman. I did guess that the Dark Wizard was one of the Blue Wizards.

Sad to see Adar die.

I think they're just making shit up at this point. As long as the show turns out good enough, it's not too important, unless very egregious.

I was also sad about Adar. It was also fucked up that the guy who betrayed him, immediately got killed by Sauron.

I liked the first season but yeah I thought this one was better.

I need to get around to playing Shadow of War now that I've seen what happened to Celebrimbor

I checked and google says $700 mil and reddit says 1 billion

700 doesn't sound too bad, it's not like they skimped on the special effects or costumes or anything.

So Merimac (aka Nobody) gave Gandalf his name when he called him Grand Elf. Tom Bombadil told him that nobody gives you a name. I wonder if that was an actual prediction or a coincidence that he said it.

I honestly hate that it was Gandalf. It's an age to early. Woulda made more sense if it was Saruman. Dark wizard is definitely one of the blue wizards though.

Exactly!! And I get they gotta condense a lot of stuff but they could have used a different wizard. They only used Gandalf because he's well known. Now we're gonna have stupid people thinking this shit is canon. Don't get me wrong I love the second season but after that reveal I can firmly consider this fanfiction.

2nd half of the second season finally felt good. Still bogged down by Gandalf segments. Also Ar Pharazon is kinda hard to take serious when acts and looks a bit cartooney

I wonder if they'll retcon it? The Stranger had amnesia, heard something that sounded like a name he vaguely remembers, automatically thought it was his name. Turns out his name was Saruman all along!

Galadriel is literally Elrond's mother in law. I'd call that an egregious... Change

I know I'm in the minority, but I found this season extremely disappointing. That being said, Charlie Vickers was absolutely phenomenal in his role. He and Celebrimbor were amazing to watch together

They just tried to cram far too much in. And the editing felt really off. We go from Durin's Bane to the next shot of Kazadum being apparently mostly fine.

Adar's death was nice... But just very rushed. It's what I mean by the editing being off. It feels like there are so many scenes that got cut. I understand editing down for time, but I don't think they did a great job of it

Nah, that was just another problem I had - they kept doing these cheeky little call backs and hints - and it got old very quickly. Early on in this season Poppy made a throw away comment regarding Stranger's staff, saying he should just use any Gand

Gonna say it, Rings of Power season 2 was about on par with House of the Dragon season 2. Generally because one improved while the other declined. Those last two episodes really bumped it up.

Finally watched the finale. I thought it was pretty good. I liked this season.

Why is the balrog even a plot point it doesnt even wake up until like two durins later, lol. Didnt watch it btw I very much disliked the first season and I just dont feel like wasting 8 hours on something I cant get behind right now. If it really does seem that better after the season is over Ill check it out. Im a bit of a tolkien purist I guess. The video compilations of all the repurposed dialog from the original movies are pretty funny, though. You have the stranger get literally the same lines as gandalf and people still think hes anyone else? If he was that would just be dumb at this point.

Is there some story based reason as to why they went against the order of the forging of the rings? I dont remember much, other than master elven smith celebrimbor having to be told what an alloy is. Any word on where the fuck celeborn is, yet?

Nah, it was the lesser rings, dwarven, men, elven, and the one ring. Kind of important that the elven rings were last, because they were made independently by celebrimbor without sauron's influence, hence why they didnt corrupt their users. The poem just sounds pretty and we all know how much tolkien loves that shit, lol. Also the dwarven rings didnt really corrupt their bearers much at all because the dwarves were just that solid with and willful. I saw some clips of old durin going all bilbo'y over his I think.
Btw I dont mind there being concessions, as long as they provide for good quality storytelling worthy of the franchise. I just dont think what Ive seen so far has accomplished that.
