I don't screw with dairy past the expiration date, but if you wanna do a sniff test and give it a shot go for it. Personally it sounds like a terrible idea to recover, what, like $3 in spent milk?

I would have no issues with using a can of condensed milk past the best by date. Especially in baking. Fresh milk I will toss even before the date if there is even a hint that it has started to sour.

Most canned stuff is good even years after it's expired. As long as it's not corroded, swollen, or leaking, you should be fine.
