do you think it should be retired permanently? Or should it keep going like Western super heroes that were created 70 years ago by long dead creators?

Let it die. Manga should not turn into Western comics. It would destroy innovation.

I think after Daima we just need to let it go save for the occasional movie and of course video games

i would be fine if it kept going if it would actually do something creative

rather than just cram every story between buu and end of Z

dragon ball use to be unique in that the characters aged

Apparently, there's a big legal fight going on right now to decide just that.

I honestly dont mind either way. DB & DBZ are what matter to me. Everything else is just side stuff to me. I still watch/read it, and sometimes enjoy it. But I know what brought me to the table.

Edit: At the very least, Id like the current unresolved stuff to get a finale. We cant end without a resolution to Freeza Black.

A final arc to wrap up the loose ends of Super that ties into end of z or takes place shortly after that (and acknowledges it) would be ideal.

I'm not opposed to more content after that either but I do think any new content beyond the next Super arc should take place after EoZ.

But creators generally own their works, so when they die it ends. That forces magazines to more regularly try new series, rather then just doing infinite sequels of their biggest sellers like marvel and DC. It's not about DBZ specifically. It's about not normalizing the idea of publishers owning these stories.

Anime is not hurting for new and original content. Its one of, if not the, most oversaturated market for media.

Toriyama/Toyotaro and Shueisha were probably about to finish up the manga with the introduction of Black Frieza, so I imagine they could probably do enough with that to finish that up, and then just let it rest.

I wouldn't mind spin-offs, or occasional side stuff like in videogame with Xenoverse and shit.

Ideally it should end, though Toyotaro seems to want to keep Super going. Just hoping he gets to get it past EoZ, but kinda bummed we'll never see a post-Z Toriyama story. I guess from here until Toyo feels it should end, just hope he doesn't get forced to keep it going more than he wants to, he's in a really hard position right now

Easy solution: Give it to whoever is involved in the fight that has a name that starts with To, and make it legally required for everyone to refer to that person by that name

The occasional animated project via movies and a short TV run would work.

Like other manga IPs that are still around after their creators pass away sometimes a new like 13 episode or 26 episode series is made every like 7 years+. Think lupin the 3rd, cyborg 009, astro boy, speed racer (the creator for this one passed away since the 70s and speed racer still kept popularity with some people after all this time) and so on.

Manga hasn't been innovative in a long time in general. Battle shonens are mostly the same shit that they've always been and isekai garbage is still being pumped out left and right
